Some of the bible stories (old testament anyway) seemed very similar to stories in the gilgamesh epics and the enuma elish which were written well before the bible supposedly was. I guess if its true it depends on wheter those stories are true or not.

I once saw a store where it was in the 'B' section...for Bible. heh.
Usually though it's under reference, spirituality/religion, or history...
there's no official section for it though...
on my bookshelf there's no such categorization...it's actually arranged by size...so like...4 from the left. lol

it should be in either religion or fiction, or actually...both. as it is not based on actual substantial proven fact. As all other religious text.
I'm not trying to insult, it is just what I really think. regardless of whether or not there is a god, or what people think about whatever religion, none of it is proven non-fiction in real terms, so none should go to non-fiction.

I used to switch the signs at Barnes and Noble so that it said "Religious Fiction" or "Humor" over the bibles.

If you going to insult everything I believe in, if you're going to "poke fun" at something that literally SAVED MY LIFE, then please, at least come up with an original way to do it, OK?
