im in the middle of decorating my small bathroom and its a choice between yellow or blue

well i will suggest blue, because its the color of the ocean. and it is somehow will match it, you've got your bathroom and its like there will be lots of water in there!

I think blue is really overdone for bathrooms, yellow could be a very interesting (and invigorating) color to use. I guess what you should be considering is how much time you spend in that room and when. For example, if you are a morning person who spends more time there in the morning (showering, etc.), would blue put you to sleep? Would a bright and sunny shade of yellow perk you up? If you are more of a night person, maybe blue would help soothe you. I have a yellow kitchen at the moment because my kitchen is always very busy and I like to walk into a bright room in the mornings when my head is sleepy. Yellow really energizes me. Of course, you could always try a different blue too, like turquoise, to liven up a bathroom. And ultimately, if you can't decide, do both; yellow and blue can pair rather well together (buttery yellow walls and tiles with royal or navy blue towels and accents). Depends on the rest of the house and on the shade of blue. Personally I would go for yellow, because I've seen a few yellow bathrooms and I've always liked them. But a light blue would be nice too.

it depends on the shade of yellow or blue. the room is small, so you don't wanna go with a dark color or it will close the room in. if one color is particularly darker than the other, choose the lighter one. but if they're both relatively light, i'd say look at the other colors in your house. think: which color will help my house "flow" better from room to room? which one "goes" better with the decor in my house and my future plans for the bathroom's decor?

Light blue would do good for your bathroom. It's a cool and calming colour, unlike darker colours like red or brown.
If you also wanted to use yellow, use a light one.

Yellow is nice and bright. Accent with pale blue towels and accessories. I have seen in catalogs and it looks really sharp.

Go for the yellow, this blends better with earth tones and reds which are now hot.

A wedgewood blue is very calming for a bathroom.

But you could also do a combination of both.
