Ok, so I've read lots of comments from all different people who are against Christianity, and many of them say that Christians aren't willing to support their beliefs with science, or that they can't (or aren't willing to) contradict evidence supporting evolution. Now I guess I just don't get this, cause I know many Christians who make it their job to find the facts and scientific evidence that contradicts evolution. So, is it just that you've never met one? Or is it that the evidence they provide, you refuse to acknowledge? I'm not trying to offend anyone, just asking. And I realize you could just tell me why don't I provide some, and the answer is because that is not what this question is about. I'd be more then happy to in a separate question, or in response to a question. Just wondering why you think that we can't provide scientific evidence that supports Creation, and contradicts evolution.

Just for added info, when I say a Christian providing scientific evidence, I am referring to outside the Bible. Real evidence that has been done in a lab. Not using the Bible as proof. I'm smarter then that and realize that for the people who don't believe the Bible's validity, using it as proof would be useless.

Ok... some of these answers aren't answering the question. Let me state it basically. Why do you think Christians can't provide evidence supporting Creation, and contradicting evolution. Simple question.

Capt- I'm aware that ID does not prove Jesus as the Son of God, and I agree that it doesn't even prove the Bible's validity. But it does imply a DESIGNER.

You're making an assumption that this supposed evidence you speak of is reasonable, accurate, and satisfactory. Having done a decent amount of discovery and exploration myself, I'll let you know something: not even those most celebrated within creationist circles have provided even an ounce of evidence which would suggest even doubt in evolutionary biology or have supplied anyone with enough data and information to affirm even consideration in their intelligent design idea. It isn't that they "refuse to acknowledge" the evidence: We acknowledge it all the time, it just isn't any good.

Here's the problem. Just because someone can prove that some of the history of the bible is correct or if some one can prove that we were created rather that evolved does not mean that the Bible as a whole is true. It also fails to prove that God is the god of Christianity. Religion cannot be proved or disproved with science.
They are scientist that favor Intelligent design over evolution and have evidence to support it. That doesn't prove that Jesus is the son of God.

The scientific evidence provided to refute evolution is insufficient (I would actually say it's wrong). For one thing, the book of Genesis provides two very different stories about the creation of the world (chapter 1 and chapter 2), the second of which has Adam being created, then all the animals of the world, then Eve. (Look it up, it's right at the beginning and not hard to find.) Does that sound logical, when scientific evidence tells us that humans are among the youngest creatures on the planet?

Phew, what a loaded question. I'm a Christian myself and I agree that many Christians are in the scientific community and can offer proof for both sides (creation and evolution). From my understanding, many people have a problem with the Christians whose answer always ends with "because God wished (said, made it, etc.) so" instead of continuing to ask questions and expanding their knowledge. It's too convenient and is often used as an excuse to end a discussion. Those who support the theory of evolution acknowledges that it is a theory and may change as we continue to ask more questions and learn more about ourselves and everything that surrounds us. The theory of evolution is not an absolute wholly unlike creationism.

Probably because there are no experiments in the lab that have yielded results that point to Creation. If someone found true scientific evidence that proved creation and disproved evolution , then it would be accepted as fact. However, there hasn't been anything close to that. And given the statistical improbability of the existence of god, the lack of any scientific evidence supporting the existence of god and the voluminous amounts of empirical data to support evolution, I doubt there ever will be. It's funny the debate still exists. Evolution has been accepted fact for hundreds of years, the mechanism has been the issue of main debate over the years.

Dear Christian,
whenever we are a member of any group, we are put in the position of representing that group and informing people who need to know more about us. No matter how many times you answer a particular question, there is always someone who will ask about it again who was not there when you addressed it or who was not paying attention or just didn´t get it. No matter what group you belong to, there is always someone who has prejudices against that group. So try to look at this situation as an opportunity to enlighten people on your views and the views of the people with whom you associate. Maybe it would be helpful to add a list of literature addressing the subject of scientific support of Creation to your answers.

I've seen many creationists try to prove their bible stories to be truth and try to refute evolution and basic science. Their attempts have been laughable and embarassingly lacking in reason and logic. I wait for one to actually speak intelligently on the subject. I've never experienced that.
EDIT : "Why do you think Christians can't provide evidence supporting Creation, and contradicting evolution."
There isn't any evidence supporting creationism. It, like the bible it came from and the "god" that supposedly inspired it, are fairy tales.
Evolution is science. There's plenty of evidence for it. It's pretty hard to refute something that has so much evidence for it.

You know, I drove by a church one day and saw on their sign A guy was visiting who could prove evolution wrong. I can't remember his name now, but I remember what he said because I talked a friend into going and seeing it with me. He had three arguments:
1.)Reptiles never stop growing. So dinosaurs would never have evolved into smaller creatures.
2.)The earth is described as no more that 6,000 years in the bible, so the theory of evolution is impossible.
and 3.)Genesis never mentioned anything about Dinosaurs.
To put it gently, I was not impressed with his conclusions, nor his thesis. That is all I have to say because is the only experience I've had with evolution debunking christians.

Yes scientifically there is the evidence, but someone had to create everything, yes the creator of science is GOD. If people would read Genesis, they would understand, so there for why do people that never had the knowledge can understand the spiritual gifts, that God gave us through his son Jesus...God is not cruel but he can get earth if he really wanted to and bash it against what ever he feels like, but because of the ones who trust and put their faith in God, he will not destroy earth as he should, because of all the trash that goes on here on earth. He wants all of us to come to our senses and understand how much he loves us so he can come and take our souls home, when he comes for his children.

Personally while I don't believe in the big bang theory I do belive in creation and that god planed for us to evolve and that we may still be evolving maybe I'm missing a key peace of information here but why do people think that evolution instantly contradicts creationism?
