Joseph Smith claimed that, when he asked Jesus Christ which of the churches were right, He said that THOSE churches, which I take to mean the churches there at that time, were all wrong, that their CREEDS were an abomination, and THEIR professors were corrupt.
And no one who is non-LDS CHristian should even try to pretend that there are not mainline CHristian churches that make the claim that if you don't belong to them, you are going to burn in hell. My mom had a former co-worker tell her to get out of the Methodist church for that very reason.

If I remember correctly, Jesus taught one gospel, one truth, and that those who did not practice or believe in that "one gospel" were not following the correct gosepl.
Think of how "truth" can branch out over time... let's say there are hypothetically 50 things Jesus taught. Well, over time, how many of those "50 things" would be changed to fit a man's view or interpretation of how he thought it should be taught? Many many times. Why do you think there are SOOO many different religions/churches? My belief is that every church stemmed from the correct one, which was taught to Adam and Eve. Over time it changed, had been interpreted differently, and eventually completely lost from the earth...until it was restored to the earth through Joseph Smith by the power of Almighty God.
We invite all to come unto Christ. Our prophet, President Hinckley, invites all of other faiths to "bring all your good" and we will add the rest. We do believe other churches have some good, not just the complete gospel.

As it (to join none of them, as they are all wrong) is still in the official account of the First Vision, I would have to say that it is still taught. However, it is not mentioned very often if at all in the meetings I attend.
We do teach/It is still taught that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored church.
Were you a member 20 years ago? an investigator? or are you just a run of the mill angry anti-Mormon?

how will you're making mormonism sound any worse than that's? Seeing what mormonism is extremely about makes it look undesirable, no longer what persons make up about it. once you've a cult that teaches that God is a million) no longer all-effective, 2) truthfully has a initiating, 3) has equals, 4) is a standing/being that mere men can sometime attain, i do not comprehend what actual each man or woman might want to assert about your faith, actual or no longer which will be any worse. once you teach that Jesus is a million) no longer God and 2) brother of devil you've also made your faith look undesirable. at the same time as your cult teaches those products they're attempting to diminishing God. those products come from mormon teachings, yet what worse issues might want to you ever say about a religon (than that they decrease the LORD)? Mormonism is depending on the idea that Jesus is a liar -- He PROMISED that His church would by no potential perish from the earth (no longer even the gates of hades) yet yet we are requested to settle for Joe Smith because the restorer of the gospel in the international. God is, continually became, and continually will be. He has no initiating and no end. To Him belong each of the capacity, glory, and praise in ALL OF EXISTANCE, era. there is in problem-free words one God, he's carefully with out equivalent. guy is God's creation, no longer His offspring or "race". the excellent we may be able to wish for is to sometime be in God's wonderful presence. Jesus is Lord, for no servant of the Lord has the right to be worshiped or to apply the Lord's call as their very own. Jesus promised us that His church does no longer perish and that certainly He will be with us continually. of course He also warned that many would are available in His call attempting to decieve and in mormonism (as yet one party) that has truly come actual besides.

According to the Bible,
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
(New Testament | Ephesians 4:5)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
(New Testament | Ephesians 4:11 - 12)
There should be only one true Church with Prophets and Apostles.
Those who say there is more than one true church must be kidding to themselves.
We LDS believe "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints " to be the true church, bold as it may, but what else would it be to one who believes.
Don't the other christians believe theirs is the true church too? Or just one of the true one? If you don't have faith in your church , why believe in it?

If two religions teach different doctrine they can't both be right. Every church says that, and if they don't then they are too easy and flexible. Religious tolerance is a good thing, respecting people's rights is a good thing, but if a relgion claims to be true then by default it has to claim that all other religions are not, even if they have good things.
By the way, John, who wrote the Book of Revelations wrote it before the Gospel of John, so I guess even John added to "this book" and condemned himself, or he was just referring to the book of Revelations and not the the Bible as a whole, since the Bible wasn't even compiled yet.

Well, the mormon church states emphatically that THEY are the ONLY One True Church. Not much room for argument there. Also, in their 'sacred' text, the Book of Mormon, one of the principal characters (Nephi) states in reference to aoo non-mormons that they belong to the 'great and abominable church of the devil, the whore of all the earth'! Subtlety is not their long suit.
As a side note, Joseph Smith is on record of joining the Methodist congregation after he supposedly had this vision.
Apparently he didn't have all that much faith after all.

The Church still teaches it today.
That is maybe one reason that other Christian Churches don't like the Mormons, but the true reasons go way beyond that. Here are a few:
Joseph Smith claimed to see God, even though the Bible says in four different places that God can't be seen by man. When this was brought to his attention, Joseph made up the doctrine of transfiguration.
Joseph Smith had "plural wives" in secret for about 4 years before it was finally brought to life in 1844, less than a month before he was killed. In order to cover it up, he drafted what later became Section 132 of the D&C saying that God authorized polygamy. Again, to avoid scrutiny, he said that he had received the revelation in 1831 but had not begun following it until 1842. This is problematic because the LDS Church has documented plural marriages for Joseph Smith dating back to 1839.
Joseph Smith translated some Egyptian papyri that he found in the caskets of some mummies he bought, claiming it to be writings of Abraham explaining the creation of the universe and God's astronomy (Kolob, etc). These documents were conveniently 'lost', and were believed to have been burned in a museum fire in 1879. They were found in 1964 (and yes, they were confirmed to be the actual papyri, because they had building plans of Nauvoo and other Church information in Joseph's handwriting on the back), and copies were translated independently by several renowned egyptologists. It was unanimously reported by each separate translator that the scripts were referring not to God or Abraham or Astronomy, but of the burial and mummification of a guy named Hor (or Horus). What's more, the documents were dated using two different methodologies and were found to have been created between 320 and 100 BC, nearly 2000 years after the time of Abraham.
Brigham Young, the second mormon prophet, expounded on Joseph Smith's 'plural god' theory (which he developed in Nauvoo) and had his apostles teaching all sorts of erroneous doctrines, such as the one where you have to have 3 wives to become a God, that Jesus had at least 3 wives, that God has several wives, and that Adam is a god (Eve being 'one of his wives'). The Church later toned down or denied all of these teachings as being the 'personal opinion' of Brigham Young, even though he was speaking in the name of the Lord.
Temple Mormons were required to swear 3 death penalty oaths as part of the endowment until 1990. They were also required to swear a blood oath of vengeance against the United States of America until 1904, when the Reed Smoot trials brought these to light and they were forced to eliminate them from the endowment.
The Church is worth over $30 billion and receives over $6 billion in revenues each year, yet remains one of the few (less than 2%) private religious/charity organizations that does not report financial results to its members or the public. The only financial report is when the Church Auditing Department (owned by the Church) reads a report at General Conference saying that "every financial matter was found to be in compliance". No one has ever explained what "in compliance" means.
The 'prophet' of the Church lives in a $1.2 million condo, owned free of property tax by the Church. In 1983, the lowest-paid General Authority had a $40,000 "living expense allowance" (equating, with inflation, to roughly $90,000 today), even though the majority of GA living expenses (gas, car & health insurance, groceries, cleaning, clothing, condo) are paid by the Church.
Anyway, it's very much an 'oversimplification' to say that people hate the Church just because the Church says they're wrong. There are MANY other reasons that I haven't even talked about, but this is a start.

My nephew is an elder in the Morman church. And they even have what they refer to as another testament of Jesus Christ. Yet it says in Revelation to not add anything or take away anything to this book. And you need to believe that to become a member of the Morman church. Yes, they do teach(according to my nephew) that all other churches\religions don't have the truth. Jehovah's Witnesses teach their people the same thing because I used to go to their kingdom hall. They tell people to stay away from other congregations\churches\denominations because they are worldly. They too, have added to the book of Revelation and the whole Holy Bible. They have there own translation called The New World Translation. They also think that they are God's(the great I AM's) chosen people.
