We were God's enemy. But because God loves us even though we were his enemy, Christ died for us and made us friends with God and no longer enemies. God is simply asking you to do the same as he did for you.

At the time this came up in the Bible, Jesus was having some trouble out of the religious mucky-mucks who liked to create laws based on God's Commandments, or recognize certain rabbi's interpretations of them. Jesus was trying to get them back to basics. If you look at the Commandments, that's what they amount to: Love God, Love Your Neighbor. And your neighbor isn't just the people who live in your neighborhood.
If you compare our own goodness to God's goodness, isn't it amazing not only that He loves you at all, but how much he loves you? That's the kind of love He wants us to show others. If we can do that, it shows what we have experienced is real.
For those who make it difficult, He said to turn the other cheek. That doesn't mean you gotta keep on asking for trouble, but try to show them what God's love looks like even if you don't know how to offer your own at the time.
He didn't say it would be easy. Best wishes.

God is LOVE and His Love knows No Boundaries.
We might not love Him but He Loves Us. Each and everyone of Us. That's why He sent down His Only Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross to save ALL of us Sinners.
I know that it is difficult to love people who have hurt and hate us and that's why God has asked us to practice FORGIVENESS and to PRAY. The act of forgiveness can take months or even years to forgive but with constant prayers, Our Lord will answer our prayers. Not only that but instead of just praying for ourselves, we can pray for those people that hate/ hurt us. We can pray for them that with the Lord's help they will come to see the wonders of Our Father and to better understand Him.
If you said "you just wish that god only commanded us to love him only and not love other people as we love ourselves" than I think that's a very selfish thought that you have. But God is not Selfish. He's LOVE.
I just want to share this whole passage with you, 1 Cor 13. I find it very meaningful.
Taking out from the passage is paragraph 4-7: Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up ; and its faith, hope and patience never fail."
And in 1 Cor 13: 13, it says: "Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope and love; and the greatest of these is LOVE."
So just as love never gives up, I pray that you won't give up loving others too.
Love,
Sister in Christ. :)

The Bible tells us to love our enemies as also our neighbours, because probably they are generally the same people.
Now being serious, your ( soul's ) neighbour is God in your heart. And you ought to love Him, because when He goes with Him, you also go, and leave the body for ignorants to cry over.

i think of so. people decide others over clothing, how they placed on their hair. What they do and don't do. i've got self assurance there is plenty greater of that then there desires to be. seems that is complicated for people to settle for different individuals for what they're. people tend to bypass out on a limb to purchase issues to delight others particularly than themselves. by way of fact in case you haven't any longer have been given XYZ, then you definately're no person. yet, it is going to no longer be executed that way. although, i've got self assurance that everyone, to a pair degree care what different's think of of them and care approximately being judged.

"deus caritas est" God is love. if you believe in this you must love others. loving your enemy or those who love you pertains to the same "Love", i.e. God. God commanded you to love others because He is love, not "God is lover of friends nor God is lover of enemies". God is love: "Deus caritas est". Do'nt call God your Father when you can't call your enemies your brother.

In the vain hope that they'll actually do it.
So far they've left a lot to be desired.
