Yes, one of my feet is completely covered from my toes, all along the top, up onto my ankle, and around the back, including over my Achilles tendon (that was fun!).

We did sessions with my foot, and we started with just a tiny thing in the middle, and I had some swelling and soreness, but it wasn't too bad. That got better in a few days. I waited a year before I went back and had the rest done, and we did about 12 hours of work over several sessions, but we did them pretty close together, like one every week. After that, my foot was swollen for at least two weeks, maybe longer. And it was so sore I couldn't stand up sometimes.

So yes, it is not uncommon for a foot tattoo to be swollen and sore. That is especially the case when you are on your feet, or your feet are down, because blood and fluids pool down there, and that contributes to the soreness. Try to elevate your foot as much as possible, for as long as possible. Sleep with it elevated, and any time you sit down, make sure to have it elevated as well. That will help a bit with the soreness.

The one thing in your question that kind of concerns me is you state that the swelling and pain started a few days after you had the work done. It should have hurt right from the start. The fact that it didn't makes me wonder if something is infected. Are you being careful about keeping it clean and following all your aftercare instructions? Since it started after a few days, I really recommend you get it checked. Try and get in to see the tattooist who did the work as soon as possible, as he or she should know just from looking at your foot if it's okay or not. If they recommend you see a doctor, then do that, as well. An infected tattoo is really nasty, and you don't want to have to deal with that.

I wish you the best.

I bought a well measurement tattoo at the best of my foot and it did not rather harm to any extent further than my different seven tattoos did. Seriously, after a whilst, ya simply get used to the feeling of it because that is a rather bony spot with now not plenty of fleshy subject (reminiscent of your arm or some thing). More than most probably your foot will jerk a few however a well artist shall be ready to make amends for that due to the fact that it is traditional for that to occur. Also, you must move with out sneakers with a purpose to rub to your new tattoo for approximately per week or so. I wore turn flops while I needed to move someplace, which, good day confirmed off my new ink!!! It was once somewhat smooth that first day on the web page, however after that, it simply itched. I did not rather moisturize it a lot, most effective while it felt dry. Keep it blank and smack it while it feels itchy as a substitute than rubbing and also you must be good enough. Good Luck.

That is because a tattoo is an open sore. Best to keep in nothing more than a sandle if you can or wear no shoes till it heals. Socks will pull on the pealing skin and cause possible problems. Keep it clean and use some antibiotic ointment sparingly on it to keep infection at bay. If you have more problems see a doctor.

Mines is only on my calf{for now}but, I have 2 friends who've gotten tats on their feet....They said that it was really swollen & red the first couple of days as most tats are, but if you apply ointment daily{neosporin}it should heal up qithin a week or 2....Remember that your feet swet in shoes&socks so when getting tatted there you should be prepared to go bare&slide into those pedicure flip-flops......

for the first couple of days mine absolutely killed especially when wearing trousers. If it gets too bad I would see your doctor but at the moment I would just keep an eye and use Savalon cream.
