Can depression recur on a seasonal basis? I've heard of winter depression, but what about spring depression? I've had depression 2 years ago due to stress, but it wasnt treated. Last year and this year I've been feeling ultimately depressed at the same time of the year, which is spring. So is my depression recurring at a scheduled interval? Or is it just a coincidence? Thanks =)

Thank you guys for answering =]
i wasn't sure if i should see a doctor or not because i wasn't sure if its occuurance could be so scheduled or if it was just coincidence everytime. The first time i had depression i was really stressed...family and boyfriend relationships. i was eating but lost 10 pounds just over a week and couldn't sleep etc. Life was just bad and it stayed that way for about three months =( I never went to go see the doctor the first time because I kept thinking it would go away on its own. But these last two years i've been feeling really depressed when spring comes for no reason at all. haha i hope im not just being moody =\ anways thanks for all the answers and help! really appreciate it!

I am soooo with you on this. I get depressed almost to the month every year...in the Spring (March) and it usually goes on and then in Sept I am a ball of energy, creative, etc.
Then bam March comes here we go again. And this has gone on for years...my doc says its just my "way" like some people get christmas depression or January depression etc etc

So yes, I'd say (it sounds funny but) depression can be an expected thing!!! Weird but true

Anything is possible. I have been battling depression now for about 3 years. When the weather gets pretty and warm, I will think about what I would like to get out to do and instantly I switch to thinking about the negative aspects of doing it. I am taking medicine for depression but it isn't a cure. You should talk to your doctor. Tell him about how you felt a couple years ago. Tell him how you are feeling now. Could just be a coincidence. Hopefully it is just a passing thing but I would recommend talking to your doctor about it if it is enough to make you be concerned.

You can be happy anytime, whether its snowing, raining, or shining! Your mind is a tricky but infinite amount of processes. The wonderful thing is, you can use that to your advantage. Think about what makes you happy. Just sit there and think. Think about what drives you and motivates you to live in this amazing world. That can be your daily sunshine, no matter how the weather is!

I have met people who suffer seasonal depression, so it is not unknown. If you didn't need treatment last time just try and ride it through.
