well 0.99999 is 1 if the 9's repeat infinitely.
Basically people reject evolution because they want to, heck a few years ago everyone was flat rejecting global warming, saying the science was "inconclusive" and there was no real proof. Some still are. Back then I took the same stance with evolution; good evidence, makes sense, no better alternative, and chose to believe in it. It doesn't mean it's 100% but the main idea is correct and I personally believe.

The problem is in the confusion of subjective and objective reality. One plus one does equal two because it is purely an objective observation. One centimeter plus one centimeter does equal two centimeters and 0.999999 centimeters does not equal one centimeter, only nearly one centimeter.
Subjectively, we can all question anything but that does not form a basis for proof. Claiming that a centimeter is not precisely defined or that at some stage the term centimeter had a different meaning does not change the objective reality, only the subjective perception of reality.
It is equally wrong to say:
No evidence = no God.
All we can really say is that we have no evidence and until such evidence is forthcomming we see no reason to believe.

I believe in the Boyle's Law because I can test it. I do not believe Evolution to be science because I can not. I am not saying Darwin is wrong I am saying it is not truly science ie the scientific method. Outside of the Scientific method anything which is call "science" is useless to a scientist. That is the point creationists make and that atheist that claim to be the citadel for the protection of science from the barbarian faithful have thus far refused to comprehend. It is willful ignorance.

Logic is something, and evolution is something else that is way beyond it.
Evolution might have "some" points, but when you clearly look through it, it's obvious that it is no more then a theory.
No matter how far it will go, it will last "a theory".
That's my point of view.
Peace.

Actually, you'll get a very similar but cleverly disguised argument on why science can't be true because there's no external evidence for its truth. It's called the epistemological argument for God's existence.

.99999999999 does = 1 though
1/3 = .3333333333
1/3 * 3 = .3333333333 *3
1 = .99999999999

I think you are making this too hard.
I live in small town Kansas, and have talked with people who strongly reject evolution. It turns out that they know nothing about it. Simple as that.

What a wonderful and inspired theory. Hey, I just noticed.... 1.00001 + .99999 = 2. That proves it. Yahoo... ooops .. WooHoo.. ;-)
