By "gray issues," I refer to issues not specifically addressed in Scripture. Things such as movies, dances, card playing, etc. Those things which legalists tend to be dead set against.
I believe something is wrong when...
1) Scripture directly prohibits it (such as adultery, stealing, lying, etc.)
2) When what you are doing is drawing you away from God. (If it hinders your relationship with Him, how can you justify it?)
and 3) When what you do offends your brother or sister in Christ.

Cp. Romans 14:21 - It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.

Also 1 Corinthians 8:12-13 - 12 But when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13 Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.
I believe that liberty is not a license to sin. There must be balance. (see also Rom. 14:14)

Music is a big one. The bible says what biblical music is, yet some people still wanna listen to the worlds, or even worse, contemporary christians which is the worlds music, with the word God in it.

And I hate the term legalists. If you read the bible, God gives us guidelines for everything. If he says

Abstain from all appearence of evil....

And you are walking out of a bar because you were preaching to someone, do others know that? NO. You DONT GO TO THE BAR to preach. It looks bad... You look like your doing something wrong... End of story...

Anyways, just one example of many..

The Trinity. We know the existence and reality of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but are the three one being? Is Jesus God, period, or is Jesus a part of God, or is he above all the angels and every other creature, but somehow still a servant in heaven? We know on earth he took on the role of the obedient son, but in heaven is he the reigning Son on the throne of God?

Well, even though it's NOT a "gray" area, I'd say the issue of female pastors. Nothing gets me more thumbs down then when I answer a question stating my opinion on them. (except perhaps the homosexual question or the is masturbation a sin question).

I think God looks at all of our feeble attempts and sheads a tear. Why cant we be as merciful as He? hmmm? I am sure glad that I have God rather than have to be God.
