While i am installing Windows XP ,at one step the computer reboots and asks to insert the CD which is labeled Windows Professional XP Service Pack 2 and then press Enter.
I put the CD and pressed Enter.But it is not accepting it?What could be problem and what is the solution for this?

But the CD is not scratched. i am 100% sure the Cd is OK.

when Your PC be restarted during installing XP its CD should be in Cd drive and dont press any key during installing process because it repeat installing again .
OR you Windows version may has problems that not compatible with your PC try another one .

Could be any number of things. First things first, though. If you have a second CD drive, try it in there. Or try replacing the CD drive.

this is because ur cd get scrach ...................so go for better one!!!!!!!!
