You are stressed. Is there anyone who could watch grandma and the kids for a couple hours once or twice a week? You need to get out of the house and have some "me time"

I drink Monster Energy drinks, for a quick pick me up. They work quite well. That is the short answer. I work full time, go to college, and had to take care of my great-grandmother until her death last year. I don't even have any kids, so I can imagine that you are frazzled. I think that one of the most important things you can do to avoid being tired all of the time is to get on a routine of going to bed by 10PM each night. I don't do that now, but when I've been on active duty in the Army and am able to get on a routine, I feel so much better. Diet is another factor. A constant diet of fast food can make you feel lethargic as well. Exercise will also help tremendously- the Dr. is right about that- but I too, am unable to get into that routine. I can tell you from experience though good sleeping habits, diet, and exercise make all the difference in the world. As far as you feeling depressed- discuss this with your doctor. Considering the load that you have on you, I wouldn't consider that abnormal. If I were your doctor, I would prescribe an antidepressant like Effexor or Lexapro (stay away from the Prozac and Paxil). I work at CVS/pharmacy and an aspiring drug rep. Just remember though that medicine is not the answer to everything and that
having a healthier lifestyle is the best thing you can do to feel better. Good luck. Now if you would excuse me while I struggle with trying to practice what I preach.

P.S.- I would try a B-Complex vitamin like CVS/pharmacy Stress B Complex. Not only may it help some with your energy, but the zinc and vitamin C will help boost your immune system. Just remember though, that it takes a while before you start to notice any difference from vitamins and that taking more than the recommended dose is a waste as what your body doesn't use is excreted.

There's no real fix to get more energy when your fatigue is caused by burn out like yours.
Besides what the others have said already;
1. Try paying attention to your diet. The more carbs you eat through out the day the more burnt out you'll be by the end. Make sure you get your share of protien and NATURAL sugars, aka fruits. Try to make sure you're getting the vitamines your body needs to function properly. Are you taking a multi? Are you getting enough iron into your system?

Also,
(2) Running around after a toddler, a pre-teen (woof is that hard!) and taking care of seniors is beyond hard and can seem thankless at times. You mentioned you're starting to feel a bit depressed. Perhaps there's been a bit of depression already? Stress, anxiety and depression can and will make you feel very tired all of the time. To avoid sinking into a hole try talking to someone.

If insurence doesn't allow for you to go to a psychologist (they'll sometimes push you to go to a psychiatrist just to treat you with meds and get you out of the office so beware!) try talking to a close friend, esp. one with kids will understand what you're going through!

If all else fails and you're having a rough day, it's not the healthiest answer nor is it long term, but Relicor is great to help stop light anxiety/depression and will give you a little boost of energy. It's advertised as a diet pill but it's really much more. You can get it over the counter for about $40.00 a bottle.

I used to be so tired when my kids were very young,
maybe put the toddler in a pram & go for an early morning walk
I see a young woman do that daily & that will help you
it will get you out each day & you will enjoy it
have a day sleep when your toddler sleeps
If he wont sleep put the alarm on & give him books & you lie down beside him & have a sleep till the alarm goes off in an hour

I believe this have nothing to do with get less food, but you must have not enough oxygen to keep up for more hours.
Try to get oxygen booster, this kind of 'thing' will boost the oxygen in your blood which will get you fresh as you wake up in the morning.
It could be from supplements, or medical treatment (oxygen therapy), etc.
My suggestion is you have to add the enjotment to what you are doing, it will help you a lot to 'survive' longer.
good luck

I also had problems similar to you, and had the same 'treatment'- dr told me to do more exercise, take supplements. But it does no good. The key is energy-rapid energy. Take glucose. It provides rapid energy. Vitamins helps release energy, but you have to get that energy source first! Drink glucose, it really works for me!

wow, that's a lot. I went though something similar a few yrs ago; going through a divorce, taking care of a 2y.o., and taking care of my mom w/terminal cancer. I recommend: 1. SLEEP 2. exercise 3. time for yourself. Pick 2 and stick to it. You will burn out if you don't take care of yourself.
