I have depression and my doctor just prescribed the drug to me! What should I expect?

I was on Effexor a couple years ago. I found it much more efftective then "Zoloft". Everybody is different hun. It might make you feel better or it could make you feel just the same. It will take a few weeks even a couple of months for it to "kick in". I hope it makes you feel better so you can start enjoying life more! Good luck!! xo

All anti depressants simply fill a chemical imbalance in the brain. It will have no effect if you are not chemically depressed. All long term depression is chemical. You will not notice your life being more enjoyable until you take steps to make it more enjoyable, which any anti-depressant should inhibit.

it maybe the right drug for you it Will keep you from experience those deep lows and a manage even keel maybe or maybe they will have to try another. Please keep in mind this drug does not work over night it takes awhile to build up in your system plus it takes awhile for the doctor to get you on the right dosage

Please don't give up if this doesn't work there are many more out there to try. I know I tryed bunches

This drug (at least for me) SUCKS! Made me moodier and cranky, and I lost all of my sex drive.

I didn't like it and it really didn't do anything for me.
