Someone earlier had a really good point. Pagans do not worship the devil, they worship (in a loose sense) Nature, for all it's beauty, truth, peace, and healing properties.

Why would anyone believe that was a bad thing? Other than it not being Christianity, what is wrong with it? From a Christian perspective, isn't it good that they are at least appreciating God's work? Why is making an herbal concoction to treat an ailment "of the devil"? Do you think the Devil is appreciative of God's creation and uses it with thankfulness? If so, would the Devil be bad?

Indike, I was trying to get Christians to look at it from their perspective. I know many Pagans don't see it that way.

I agree 100%. I know lots of very religious people who are constantly talking to me about their "natural, herbal cures" and I don't see that as any different than use of herbs to health and well-being in many pagan traditions. Watch out. They'll steal this notion away and Christianize it like they did Easter and the winter holidays. lol

Personally, the only thing I view as important in any faith is the effect it has on how people treat others.

To tell the truth, many Pagans don't worship nature either. Nature's a gorgeous, wild thing, but a lot of us don't view nature as being the same as the gods. The work of the gods, perhaps, based on your view, but the whole "worshipping creation instead of the creator" doesn't always hold water. Some of us *do* worship the creators - we just believe in different creators.

You are misinformed. Paganism is the worship of the DIVINE that created all things not just Man/Woman. ALL Things and we celebrate that creation by respecting all life. You need to quit listening to the preacher and do some research for yourself. Pagans do have a respect for the ultimate Divine. Just as you are not the same name to everyone you have a name as a son, friend, lover, brother etc. The different names of the divine is the expression of the nature of the Divine that represents the one aspect of that god. There are many other beliefs in Paganism but this is mine. Don't look stupid. Research.

Creation is beautiful, no doubt about it. But who is greater, more worthy to be worshiped? God, no doubt about it. So why would a person waste their energy worshiping anything less than the infinite One in whom we live and move and have our being, the one who created and will renew soon? In short, anyone that worships the creation before the creator is short changing themselves, eating dog scraps under the table when they could be sitting at the table with their servant king and creator, awesome Jesus. Nature testifies of his glory, not it's own. That is what makes it good.

I would say it's not wrong for a Pagan to worship God's creation... it's wrong to be a Pagan!
Paganism is the worship of Pagan objects or of many gods.
There is only "one" God; the God whose creation you're asking about.
You said it: "God's creation", in your opening question... NOT the creation of "many" gods, (as in Paganism).

That argument won't speak to them, either, I'm afraid. They'll just say, "It's wrong to worship the creation instead of the Creator." Still, if you can get them to see that much, that's at least a step up from the "worshiping Satan" nonsense.

Who said they accept the idea of creation?
They worship things as a respect for the use of them. Not for miracles or anything.
Don't you think it is more meaningful than believing in a fancy idea of a god and creation ? After all this education?

An herbal concoction is of the devil? Hello, it's called medicine. All medicine is made from various plants and substances found on earth. If you really wish to use the energy that we're all made of in order to benefit beings, I recommend the study of reiki. Here's a great link:

God created satan. If you are willing to worship what's been created, God knows you may be fooled into worshiping him too when he appears claiming to be The Christ. Also, don't think for one minute that satan doesn't appreciate what God created. He appreciates it so much he wants to rule it.

From a christian perspective, all things that are not christian are of the devil. Many of them think that what they are hearing from the pagans is sugar coated to "fool" them. Most do not care to learn the truth about pagans, nor do they care to try to see it from a different perspective.

If you are a wolf...why do you spend time trying to get the sheep to accept you and what you do? Do you care what the sheep think? You cannot make a sheep into something else...only time will help them evolve past it.
