Christians think that marriage was and is only for Christian people, that it was invented as a Christian union. Which is totally false.

Well, the Storting have ratified it (in a hasty process by the red-green extremists) but it is not to be considered a law before january 2009. So let's just wait and see what consequences this outrage will have in 20-30 years. My guess is that it will in time be a new debate, the one we have today is quelled by extremist politicians and the liberal media elite, when we will actually come to terms with what happened when they legalized gay marriage and gave lesbians equal rights to visit the fertility clinics as heterosexuals with medical problems. The main reason we should be against this kind off marriage, is that we do not know what consequences this will have on our society and how kids with two fathers or two mothers will grow up and how their lifes will be affected. After they legalized gay marriage in Norway, I'm ashamed to call myself Norwegian!

The Bible teaches that homosexuality is an abomination and many Christians believe that it is the government's responsibility to enforce biblical morals.

BTY most Christians do not go to gay prostitutes. Just because some hypocritical evangelist does that doesn't mean that other Christians do so.

Probably because marriage is a sacred union, and they typically dont marry gay prostitutes.
Heres a better question, why do gay people get married, if marriage is a religeous sacrament, and most religions denounce homosexual behavior? Its almost as if gay, agnostic, and athiest couples enter marriage strictly for the "bennies"(lower car insurance,etc.etc.) Its the only reason I can think of TOO marry, because doing so would make them hippocritical. If I were gay, agnostic, or athiest, I wouldn't get married simply for the fact that doing so would make a mockery of another persons religion, and is disrespectful. It would be as if your "poseing" as something you obviously aren't.

Gay marriage seems to take something that has been ordained by God, in a Christian's view, and combines it with a seemingly sinful act, that of a gay lifestyle. Christians have been shown in verse and message that to live a homosexual lifestyle is a sin, yet to allow the church marriage of two who openly and willingly participate in such a lifestyle goes against what has been taught.

That is not to say that the civil union of same sex couples should be against the church teachings ..... though that may even be argued against by many of us Christians. To call it a marriage puts a religious label on it and that is what seems to stick in the craw of a Christian in many cases. Especially when it is presided over by a "Christian" clergy.

A Christian does not hate ! It is the sin that we despise ! ...Romans 1 : 22 - 27.. professing themselves to be wise , they became fools .. And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man , and to birds and fourfooted beast and creeping things .. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts , to dishonor their own bodies between themselves .. Who changed the truth of God into a lie , and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator , who is blessed for ever. Amen .. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections : for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature .. And likewise also the men , leaving the natural use of the woman , burned in their lust one toward another ; men working that which is unseemly , and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet..

funny & a good point...

although even in the Old Testament times, any form of sexual perversion wasn't condoned by Yahweh

so any supposedly follower of Almighty God should avoid any such practice... (not the person committing the acts, but the actions themselves... most especially not committing the acts themselves)

Well it isn't that they hate gay marriage, because marriage is between a man and a woman, so what you want to call marriage is not marriage. You must re-define the language to get gay marriage. God doesn't approve of it and a true christian can not approve either..

You really shouldnt stereotype Christians like that. Just because some Christian leaders (or people claiming to be Christian but arent) mess up, does not mean everyone that is a Christian is like that.

Its like saying every democrat has sex with other women besides their wife just because Clinton did.

I have no idea what makes Christians think homosexuality is so darned attractive, that they must battle it or we'll all become homosexual. It's always been a variation of the norm and most of us have no interest in it. What's up with them?
