You can get it done at a salon. Are you a hippie?

I don't know about the hairdresser, but I do know a bit about dreadlocks from a friend who had them. Basically...they're gross. i don't mean cuz i don't like them but rather because this person told me and showed me.

With dreads you can't actually brush or comb your hair which means that dead skin from the scalp will get built up inside the dreadlocks along with dirt, dust (and dust mites), and lint. You can shampoo them all you like but this stuff will not come out. Maybe some of it, but believe me because I've seen it firsthand. In a word...EWWWW!

u can have it done at a hair dressers.
but dreads are a big job.
my missus (a hair dresser) did mine, and all up it took about 11 hours.
if you look at about $20 - $30/hour, thats a lot of money.
and if you are white, don't let them do twist dreads, they only work with African hair. get them to back comb it, and take the dread wax u wanna use with you, or they will try and sell u some expensive crap that is not designed for dreads.
