I was driving the other day when car in front of me stopped suddenly so as not to hit a dog (which he still hit), I tried to stop even locked up my brakes and went into the back of his car, I would like to know if this is still my fault as I am unsure because i believe his car being a little sports car can stop alot sooner than my wagon and what about the dog?, just would like to hear from other people.

Yes you're still at fault. You have to keep a safe distance from the car in front of you. Since your brakes locked and you still hit the guy....you obviously weren't traveling at a safe distance.

If you rear end another car it is always your fault.. If the sports car can stop faster than your car, then you need to think of that when deciding how close to follow. Truckers have a similar problem. Ever notice why they always have so much room in front of them?

The car in front of you is at fault for hitting the dog, not you..

absolutely 100% your fault. no doubt in my mind. you HAVE to stay a proper distance from any vehicle in front of you so that IF anything like this ever happens (they have to slam on their brakes) you wont hit them. Sorry... accept it and move on.

technically you running into the back of him is your fault. DMV states that you must be a certain distance from a vehicle in which gives you enough reaction time to stop.

As hardass as it may be, you are expected to keep you car under control at all times.

What kind of dog, I hate when they stick their nose in your crotch.
