how can you tell if a guy is really into you and not just feeding you b.s.? i have had a few bad boyfriends in my life and am automatically suspicious of any guy that likes me and it is hard for me to get close to a guy and i don't know how to stop feeling like this i met this guy he is sweet and caring and seems like he is into me and i have been really mean to him cause of past relationships and i can't get myself to believe anything he tells me cause i put him in the same no good group as my no good exes how can i stop doing this and how can i tell if he is really into me

Body language

Look at his body - all in the name of research obviously - as it says loads about what he thinks of you. Do you catch him staring in your direction when he thinks nobody’s looking? Does he move closer to you whenever he can? Does he brush against you (in a nice, non-pervy way of course) when he’s next to you?

If the answer is ‘yes’ then this boy’s seriously interested, even if he isn’t aware of doing it. Hey, it’s like reading his mind!

A not-so-secret admirer

Does he get hot and bothered when you’re around? Of course you could just be a really scary person but chances are he likes you and is worried about making a fool of himself. If he also blushes when you talk to him he might as well be wearing a neon sign over his head that says, ‘I fancy you. Yes YOU!’

Actions speak louder than words

Boys can be pretty bad at ‘fessing up to the person they fancy. You’ll have to do some detective work and look out for the (none too subtle) clues. On the plus side, these signs include him lending you his stuff or asking you to hang out with him and his mates.

More dubious signs are him showing off in front of you and teasing you mercilessly. Take it as a compliment, honest.

He wants to know what you’re up to 24/7. If you’re not around, he’s giving your mates the third degree. And when you are around it’s a constant blitz of calls and texts.

Try not to get too irritated. He just wants to get to know you better and check out whether he’s got any competition. And in case you were in any doubt by now at all - yes, this boy definitely thinks you’re hot.

Probably the best way to know if a guy likes you is to simply ask him, but we all know that can be a challenge. So, here are a few clues to working out if he likes you as much as you like him.

Steps
Examine his body language. If he likes you, you will see that his body position will lean forward toward you.

Keep close. Ever get the feeling that somebody is "in" your personal space - so much so that you want to step back? If he likes you, and you like him, neither of you will step back.

Notice his eye contact. If he likes you, he'll get it and hold it.

Again, this can be uncomfortable if you don't like him or vice versa. You'll know if you feel like you have held eye contact just a fraction of a second longer than you would with anyone else, or if he looks away quickly.

Be aware of touching. He might put his hand on your arm when he laughs, or not move his leg if it happens to touch yours. This is a very good sign that he likes you.

Keep an eye out. His pupils will dilate (get bigger) if he likes you, but this is quite hard to pick up on, and you might look a bit weird looking that closely into his eyes.

Watch for him showing interest in things you like and do.

Joke freely. Does he laugh, even if you aren't funny?

Check for signs of nervousness: nervous laughter, sweaty palms, fidgeting, etc. Unless he's scared of public speaking and is about to make a presentation, it just might be that he's nervous about making an impression on someone he fancies (hopefully you).

Smile. A big smile in return probably means the feeling is mutual.

See if he always ends up in the same part of the room as you. Perhaps he keeps going out of his way to bump into you.

Pay attention to his friends. If they know he's interested in you, they might tease him subtly when you're around, hint to you that he likes you, or even try to find out if you like him.

Also study their reactions to your presence. Do they smile?

Do they turn to him? If so, then there's a good chance he
really does like you.

Tips
Generally, think about how you act when you like someone, and look for those signs in others.

He might be shy and/or introverted. In these cases, you have to be especially gentle and patient.

Make sure the male in question is heterosexual. Some homosexual men are more comfortable showing affection toward female friends because they aren't worried about the friend thinking they are romantically interested. You could easily get the wrong idea.

Warnings
Beware of friendly, outgoing guys. You might think he likes you but he might be like that with everyone and not realize how it is making you feel about him and his intentions.

If he seems comfortable talking to you about other girls, he probably does not like you in "that way." Either that, or he is trying to make you jealous, which might mean that he likes you but doesn't reflect too well on his character.
