First and foremost it's never a good idea to have a workplace romance because when things don't work out you're forced to see each other and avoiding each other is impossible creating an uneasy situation. The best you can do is contine to communicate with respect and separate your hurt feelings from the work environment. Understand that you hurt now but it won't last forever. Take it one day at a time.

When someone at the workplace gives you a broken heart, you act like the professional adult that you are, and continue with your work. Or else you quit. Either way, get over it! And whatever you do, zip the lip and resist the urge to badmouth that person. If someone asks you about the affair or that person, and it does not have anything to do with work, then politely, but slowly walk away.

Learn from your mistake, and the next time, date outside of the workplace. Just to be safe and keep on the side of the employed, look around for another job now, while keeping the one that you have. When you find one, though, you don't have to take it. You just want to get a feel of things. Just in case there has been a leak in the grapevine and the tide turns against you.

Relationships and work don't mix! I know....u probably heard that enough.
All you can do is move on. Keep your professional attitude at work and only speak to that person regarding work related things. Stay strong. It takes time and it will get easier to deal with this person.
Good luck & take care!

Get another job, our you will never have the kind of peace there that you're accustomed to. And NEVER date within the workplace again. Its just not worth it.
