I'm a muslim woman. I enjoy drinking and I don't think I'm a lesser muslim. I know a lot of my muslim friends (men and women) who drink liquor. It's a part of my life-style but I'm still a god-fearing human with strong faith in Allah.
Do you think the people who are killing others in the name of Islam are real muslims?

They aren't allowed to drink alcohol but they are people, so they aren't perfect. Some muslims will drink and think nothing is wrong with that (although the Quran specifically states otherwise). The same can be said for christians (once-a-weeker, Sunday morning christians) or any religion for that matter.

Alcohol is forbidden in the Islamic faith. What do you mean by now days? Have you seen many Muslims drink alcohol? If you have, they aren't practicing Muslims, it's a sin to drink it or serve it or even cook with alcohol.

FUNNY ANSWER HERE. IT IS PROHIBITED IN ISLAM TO DRINK, NO DOUBTS, BUT WITH MODERNIZATION & A SHIFT IN PERSPECTIVE TOWARDS UNDERSTANDING THE TEACHINGS OF THE RELIGION, PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN THE LIBERTY OF CONSUMING ALCOHOL.
IT IS A SOCIALLY ACCPETED PRACTICE NOW A DAYS. I HAVE BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY FOR THE PAST 14 YEARS, SEVEN OF THEM IN THE MIDDLE EAST & HAVE COME ACROSS NUMEROUS MUSLIMS PATRONISING BARS EVEY DAY.
IT IS JUST A WAY OF LIFE & ACCOUNTABILITY OF YOUR ACTIONS.
IT DOSEN'T MAKE A PERSON ANY LESS OR MORE OF A MUSLIM BY DOING SO.

I think it's because there is a drifting away from the old values and morals that once governed basic human behaviour. People are starting to realize that they choose how they will turn out, not some 2000 year old book, and as such, are living life with no real nod to decency or morality. God help the human race, because I don't think we can help ourselves...
