If Joseph Smith prophesized about things that never came true, (which he did such as “I prophecy in the name of the Lord God of Israel, unless the United States redress the wrongs committed upon the Saints in the state of Missouri and punish the crimes committed by her officers that in a few years the government will be utterly overthrown and wasted, and there will not be so much as a potsherd left for their wickedness in permitting the murder of men, women and children, and the wholesale plunder and extermination of thousands of her citizens to go unpunished” (History of the Church, Vol. 5, page 394), and the bible says, “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him." Deuteronomy 18:20-22, KJV, then how can a Mormon who claims to believe in the bible also believe in any of the teaching of Joseph Smith?

I certainly don't know. And if you think you know the absolute truth of the universe, then you are just kidding yourself.

Actually, it is happening now. Anyone who has a clue can look around to see this prophecy in action.

Also note that the US Govt was overthrown in many states within 20 years of this prophecy (know your history?) which resulted in a 'War of the States" that left millions dead.

The government was overthrown in 2000 when the people's choice president was replaced by an appointed President.. It has been overthrown many times before via assassination, delegation of authority, internal wars, moral degeneracy...so in effect, what we have now is not a democratic America but a semi-totalitarian autocracy.

The US gov't is wasted away, there are very few men of noble idealism or greatness. Most bureaucrats simply make themselves bidden to those with the most money. They do NOT serve the people.

The moral decadence of the people in the United States is but a reflection of that of their elected servants: Check this out as a little factoid...

NBA or NFL?????

36 have been accused of spousal abuse
7 have been arrested for fraud
19 have been accused of writing bad checks
17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
3 have done time for assault
71, repeat 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
4 have been arrested on drug-related charges
8 have been arrested for shoplifting
21 currently are defendants in lawsuits. and
84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year
17 have been accused of soliciting sex from minors

Can you guess which organization this is? Give up yet?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group of legislators that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

I rest my case in the belief that this is what Joseph Smith was prophesizing....

Anyone who claims to have the one and true religion is just a stupid moron or a very naive person, or a politician. Serious people don't argue about which religion is best, simply because there is no point in doing so! Obviously, anyone will tell you that their religion is the better, and will offer plenty of examples to proof to you that they are right and you --if you don't agree-- are wrong.

For example, Jesus came to teach humanity to be loving and to seek the good for their brethren, but most "christians" seek only the good for themselves and let others suffer. So, if you read the bible and remember that Christ will turn away those who did not help his brothers (any human being!), why then most fathers of the church (even in biblical times) started religious wars and why there were witch burnings? You could say, if those are the christians, their religion must be false!

So my point is: religions are made by people, not by God or by the Gods. And people make mistakes. If you believe in people, you are going to be disappointed. So believe in the God or Divinity of your choice, and stop bothering about other people's religion and use your time actually practicing your God's precepts.

The bottom line is that the beliefs of the LDS church does not line up with the Bible. They do believe what any prophet has said above the Bible, because "it's modern revelation". The LDS keeps perpetuating lies about the church. In their minds it's OK to lie for the Lord.
So to answer your question they are completely wrong.

i've got not had time to make certain the information so I even have not seen protests against Mormons. I usually do not pass to hyperlinks the two, yet I did pass to the only that Hermit submit and consider some fake products then got here back to answer your question. i'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints if that's who you advise via "Mormons." There are some spin-offs that are often called Mormons that still practice polygamy, etc. yet, i don't think of there is something incorrect with us. yet you will examine a number of deceptive preparation that persons SWEAR is actual (whilst surely that's fake yet a number of human beings have faith that's actual.) people who truly understand us are actually not apprehensive human beings and a number of different of them truly like us. Others are extra attracted to spreading lies that have been informed in the previous with a view to make others worry us. One such lie is that we worship Joseph Smith particularly of Jesus Christ. i don't understand approximately you, yet i don't see Joseph Smith's call in the call of the Church. i hit upon it humorous to hearken to human beings tell me all approximately Mormons, desirable up till I tell them that i'm a Mormon. so some distance as interfering with government, I remember some years back whilst communities of people who needed some regulations to pass have been shifting from state to state with a view to help the balloting (not Mormons, yet a particular interest team.) Being an lively balloting member of a team isn't a criminal offense and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints encourages its contributors to be in contact of their communities.

Religion is a education of a philosophy. Like all education it depends on the quality of the teacher and the attentiveness of the student. What makes a person of character is their ability to decipher and pick the attributes which will allow them personal and social success in life. So to ignore a whole philosophy which you agree with for the most part because of 1 wrong statement is itself very wrong. That would be like ignoring science in whole simply because of 1 theory being proven wrong.

wrong, they put joseph smith's teachings above the bible's/ God's.
JS supposedly looked at/ saw God' sface ?- that's not possible, the living die when they see His face.
They put people on different levels, have a hierarchy in their church, no one is learned in any fashion. they have an ' elected 12' apostles who are living today and represent the past 12. Craziness.
Correct, in a few years, I don't know. i bet it will happen though. look at the us' relationship/ situation with china.
