It is not really a big deal...
17 is legal in many states..
I was 27 when I started dating my wife who was 17 at the time..

I don't think it's a big deal at all.
I just don't know what they'd have in common since they're both at different stages in their lives.
Plus, one is of legal age to do anything in a town/city/place and one isn't.... You wouldn't even be able to see R rated movies with her...strange.

As long as it is legal in your State and both of you want to date each other. Just make sure it is legal.
