Solvang is definitely a tourist attraction. However, like many cities that attract visitors, people do live in Solvang as well. There are pubs in Solvang although it is more known for its world class wineries. You will find many wine tasting rooms right in Solvang. The area around Solvang is beautiful and worth exploring. i love solvang!
some people don't like it because it's tourist-y. but all of LA is tourist-y.
Be sure to take in the missions, the beach and the surrounding countryside.
the only drawback is there is not much of a nightlife there.
