The skin is not smooth. It looks pitted. People with large pores have oily, pimple prone skin too. The pores are visible on the cheeks near the nose.
If you are suffering from large pores, e mail me for home remedies. I too have this problem of oily, pimple prone skin. So, I think I should be able to help you.

You can look in the mirror and see the pores that are open .
Try closing them . Wash faces with warm water and them after all done take a cool cloth over your face to close the pores .

small pores arent really noticable. why dont you just compare your pores to all your friends. if yours a bigger then everyones its likely that you have big ones. can you see them if your about 50cm away from a mirror? if you can they are probably big.

you can see the pores of your skin...BIG divets especially around your nose...
