A standard term of probation is that you aren't allowed to be around anyone on probation or parole unless it is a member of your immediate family. A boyfriend is not immediate family, not even if you are engaged. Therefore, if you go visit him in jail, you would be in violation.

The Sheriff's department and the police departments get updated lists each month of everyone on probation. If you sign in to visit him, they will probably check the list and see that you are on probation. They'll probably report the incident to your probation officer. The PO could file a Petition to Revoke or hold an administrative hearing since that would be a violation of your probation.

Under the criminal guidelines, your not even supposed to be associating with another probationer unless that probationer is on a "Deferred Adjudication Program". If it's Misdemeanor probation you may have to get permission from your probation officer. But, most states don't even bother to check.

Contact your probation officer and they will tell you if you are allowed or not.

Usually no but I'd call the jail and ask.
