With all of the child abusers and neglectors, doesn't it seem like the non-biological parents should get rights? Why is there not being more done to give us custody of our children and grandchildren? Nobody can give our kids more love than we can give them. Nobody. How long will it be before I have rights to my non-biological grandson?

you have a grandson that is not Biologicaly related as in no blood relation Umm you will never have any rights to that, its actually odd that you would even say non-biological grandson.
Maybe you can add more to what you are meaning to say as in the relation to this

First each case is different but grandparents are NOT the best choice to raise kids in many cases. The real issue is why do Mothers have more rights than Fathers? In today's world many dads are equal partners in the raising of a child, yet when it comes to divorce dad almost always gets the shaft how is that fair? A reason grandparents often do not have rights in abuse cases is because the family tie can cause serious issues if the abuser wants to see the kids. Also often the "grandparents" will not abide by the court rules and will allow the parents of the child to visit when they should not.

I wish there was an answer for you that you would like, but there isnt. As far as the State is concerned, they continue to try to keep the family together, mother and kids, father and kids. When that fails, then grandparents do have some rights. But a non-biological caregiver is pretty low on the totempole as far as rights are concerned. Lower, even. But you already know all this. Im sorry for your plight.
