They are quick to check out and judge good caregivers and take forever to get around to checking out abusive/neglective caregivers. Even when they identify the bad ones, very little is done and it takes FOREVER. Then children are put into foster homes which are sometimes just as bad or worse than original home. Occasionally, really good social workers will try and try again over and over to do what's best for child and someone comes along with some legal loophole to undermine their efforts.

They don't protect kids! It's all about politics and returning kids to bad situations will never work. Putting them in worse situations will never help. They fail the kids every day. It's not sad but infuriating! They make bad decisions and take too long to do it, OR they do something so fast no one knows what happened. Either way it never seems to be in the kids best interest but looks good on paper.

My complaint is this. Having someone call just because they are holding a grudge against you and totally disrupting your life and not being told who called.

I don't know Most People's complaints but I do know mine.
I lived in a small town with ALOT of family problems. I litterly did not have One Single Friend that had not been or is not presently being, abused, beaten, neglected, molested, or raped in one way or the other usually by a family member. Frighteningly usualy the abuse was carried out by the Step dad with the mothers knowledge/concent/participation. I'm not exaggerating even a little.
Here's where it gets better. Most people in town Know about this, litterly. two friends who are sisters were being raped and abused by their step dad(s) begining at 3 or4 years old untill they were 12 and 14. The KINDERGARDEN teacher told the mother to take them away from the father, the School board told them to take them away, even the polioce "suggested" keeping and eye on the stepdad. Nothing. When he threatened to kill the older daughter for standing up to him while he was abusing the mother, the mom finally agreed to call the police and he was sent to jail (for 4 years or so...) what did the towns people say " Oh yea, the X girls, I always thought X touched them too much in church" or "Oh, yea! I heard! I'm so glad they put him away, I kept seeing the bruises but didn't want to say anything, you know, it's not my business any way..." and theirs more, but this is turning to a rant I'll move on.
My biggest complaint is this: When the girls and boys I know/ knew faught back they were sent to anger management, when they have bruses the size of grapefuits on thier bodies they were told they were clumbsy, when my 5 year old friend was seen by the police to have a mans hand print bruised on her arm the step mom said the girl did it to herself with rocks in the drive way. When the kids are going nutty from being locked in basements thrown down stairs, starved, rapped, brainwashed with propoganda, being held down by their mother to be beaten by their father/step dad as their siblings cheer, they are given Prozack and other drugs to calm them down, when they complain about the situation they are called liers, when they are locked in a bleak room with an annoyed looking social worker they clam up and cry and are told to behave themselfs. When they talk to their friends about suicide and running away the friends have no where to go to because no one wants to hear it.
This Is My Complaint. The lead guy we'll call "Quiggs", as it's his nick name, wants to keep the parents as friends, so blames the kids. But wants to get a good pension so he takes easy fixes "CALF", "Boys Ranch", prozack ect. so he's technicly working and if he complains a little can get a raise. The social workers that be, if they want their job have to agree with this "Quiggs", better if they don't care, but they want something shining also, they want to be a hero, it's boring if the whole town knows that boy is walking in the street at midnight in the snow without a coat because his mom threw him out so she could have a party with meth and every willing man in town. Nonono, they have to have something no one saw comming; in kindergarden the year we moved to town someone in my family was told to draw the most natural picture of their family. They were looking at nature all week, animals plants what not, so they drew the family like animals, without cloths. The cops knocked on our door a couple hours later threatening to take all of us away. When my friend described in detail what her step dad was doing to her, no one dared call the police, because it was true. And Mom is such a nice lady...
That's my complaints. 1. they want easy money, 2. want to be heros, 3. don't want to step on popular families toes. 4. "Quiggs" is in charge period. This is their credo.
Now, after 2 deaths by suicide, god knows how many attempted, almost everyone I know, 3 counts of running away for at least a week, 30 children with drinking drug and smoking problems, 2 who've had abortions (I'll just tell you. Incest.) at least 9 who were put into solitary confinement at "the Ranch" or equivilant for not wanting to see their abusers. We now have 6 or so social workers who are intrested in whats going wrong in that town, 1 actually is in that town, and is about to be transferred out because of "problems with the boss".
Sory for the rant. Money, Lazy, Hero, Boss. That summs it up.

lack of time and inability to treat each case on its own merits.
