You are correct in assuming avocado slices will turn brown and black when exposed to the air. You need to use some sort of citrus on them to keep them from doing so. Lemon is commonly used, but lime, orange, or even grapefruit would work as well.

Avocado will turn brown 3 SECONDS after you slice it. Do the same thing you would with apples: sprinkle with lemon juice.

Yep, they sure do, but add a little lemon juice and that may help for a little while. I love avocados so much they never last long enough to turn brown in my house.

They do turn brown pretty quickly, you can put some lime juice or lemon juice, but the best bet is to use it up as quickly as you can. Avocados spoil fairly quickly, and besides that, they are delicious enough that most people don't mind a little extra in their meal.

Yes they will oxidize, (turn brown). You can slow it by putting some lemon juice on them or by wraping them tightly in plastic wrap, make sure to wrap the avocados up with as little air as possible.

Yes they can oxidize and turn brown. You can put lemon or lime juice on it (just like you can with apples) to prevent them from turning brown.

Yes, and it is faster than 3 hours. Use citrus juice like lemon or lime.

yep, it'll go brown.
If you can, cover directly with plastic wrap, with no air gaps. Depending on what you like to put on them, maybe lemon juice or a bit of salt would help.
try cutting with a ceramic knife! they are pricey but they do reduce oxidation on fruits.
