I do not have serious health problems, but unfortunately I have enough to sometimes wonder why continue a lifestyle that will continuously force me to be aware of them.
I'm anemic, pretty bad asthma, eczema with scars, have a list of food allergies, tendency to faint from weakness, and stomach problems. They aren't as serious as heart problems and cancer and I'm not trying to complain, but just asking everyone else out there with the same dilemna -

It's easy to just sit in bed and stay inside to avoid all the allergens and what not and never explore new foods with risk of being allergic to them - but that would be a lifestyle I'm quite sure most ppl would not enjoy.

So, how do you stay motivated to keep trying despite having problems that you're aware of everyday? e.g. taking pills, making sure to have enough sugar, etc

:)

Your question is an interesting one. Many people who have suffered injury or illness find themselves questioning their motivations, or otherwise find something lacking in their abilities or situation. This is normal when you compare your life to someone else's, whom you consider "normal" or "better." I think the only real issue raised here is what you consider to be a 'normal' way of life.

You've listed a number of complaints, which do seem to fall outside the ordinary. But, does that make you incapable of enjoying life, or extraordinarily capable of it? You see, in spite of the difficulties of your conditions, you are probably able to live a full life and participate in the melodrama that is the human experience. This makes you supremely suited to examining different aspects of life and interaction.

You may find that you can work through some of your inner struggles by finding strength in the fact that you are able to achieve so much in your life. You can then transmit, teach, or communicate this knowledge to others, some of whom are doubtlessly worse off than yourself, and thereby grow from some of your difficulties.

Nobody is perfect, physically or otherwise. And if they were, they would be very plain and boring people. Celebrate your differences and let them be identifying markers that make you who you are, not something that holds you back.

The first thing to do is have your doctor treat your anemia if he isn't doing that. Next get rid of all of your toxic cleaners and laundry products and replace them with all natural ones. Many are registerd pesticides so take them to the your local toxic waste recylcling plant to dispose of the old ones. Have someone clean your entire home with the new product inculding shampoo the carpet and furniture and wash all clothes and bedding in the new detergent. Be sure you have good air purifierers throughout the house. Take a good mulitvitamin that is well absorbed by your body and a good antioxidant supplement to boost your immune system. See your allergist to get thoroughly tested for all allergies including food allergies. Find out what is making you faint and what is causing your stomach problems and take care of those. Then get out and enjoy life.

A good reason is what you need.

Often sick people fight to stay alive because of a good reason. Some wanted to see their children grow up. Others wanted to stay on because they have enjoy enough.

If life is happy for you, you won't want to let go and will be motivated to fight on. Get a boyfriend. Have a pet you love and wanted to see and feed it tomorrow. Think about how sad your parents will be if you failed to recover. You must have a compelling result to live on.

No sick person is motivated for long. The pain will de-motivated them. Try yoga to improve your health. Do a little more each day to improve your health.
