I have a Greyhound with the dog equivalent of Eczema. I use bag balm on his skin. It's safe if he decides to try to lick it off. (Maybe a little case of the runs.) As for the hip what works for me is Glucosamine. They have a supplement available at PetCo as well as Petsmart. Put it in some Peanut butter and there shouldn't be a problem. It may take some time to show results, but it does help. They use it on horses as well

Give her Gloucosomine and Chondroitin for her hips. This will help with pain, and help lubricate the joint. What kind of skin problems, allergies, anal gland empacted? Poor dog food can cause itchy, dry skin. Allergies can cause hair to fall out, body fluid to seep from red open sores. Anal gland empaction will cause excessive licking, itching, scratching. Allergies will do this also. Wheat and corn are oftentimes bad grains for dogs, skin problems and digestive issues will be apparent. Feed a good quality chicken/rice mixture, or Eukanuba Fish/Potatoe, this is what I feed my St.Bernard that has allergy issues. If she is grouchy, does that mean she is in pain and reacting to people touching her? If she is agressive, you may need a vet to help you with the problem. You can give her Bak Flower, it is for cranky animals, safe for humans as well. Give 2-3 squirts each day.
