I couldn't find the final numbers for 2006, but in 2004, 8.9 billion chickens were slaughtered in the United States. This comes out to approximately 24,383,561 chicken per day in the U.S. alone, not to mention this was in 2004 so the number has probably increased since then. As far as world wide, I'm sorry I couldn't find it for you.
