I believe that.
The only thing is this, the evolution you describe here is adaptive evolution of existing life. I totally agree with the scientific observation of adaptive evolution. What many people have great difficulty separating, is adaptive evolution from creative evolution. Over and over on this section people refer to adaptive evolution to support creative evolution. These are profoundly different ideas. There is no scientific proof for creative evolution, but tons of scientific proof of adaptive.

Looks as though I am the only one who understood the question.

Couldn't God Use Evolution?

Because God would have said that it happened that way.

The math of evolution requires an infinite physical time span. However, science has discovered that the universe had a beginning--so there is not enough time to make evolution even remotely possible.

You're approach is good, but your conclusion is flawed. Since God is infinite, you should have no problem with the concept that the perfection of Creation could happen in a 144 hour period. The Greeks believed that this was accomplished with just a word of command. This was referred to as the "Logos"--ie "The Word".

John 1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Some can say you can believe in both. However, it does not wash with me. If the God you are considering dwells in the eternal and is THE Creator, then you should have no problem with His abilities to create as He wills. Only a limited concept of God would have trouble with it. Evolution is nothing to stumble over. Evolution and science are a distraction away from what is most important--that being eternal salvation.

Remember this, and never forget. Science is limited to the physical. Your soul is eternal. The Bible deals with what is eternal where science cannot venture. The physical realm will pass away, and science will pass away with it. What you want to do is latch onto that which will last forever, and that is the Word of God.

Matthew 24:35

Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

If that was the resolution to the problem there would be no problem.
The real thing is like this.
If evolution is true then the Adam and Eve story is wrong.
If the Adam and Eve story is wrong then there was no original sin.
If there was no original sin there was no need for salvation.
If there was no need of salvation, then the whole Christianity Game collapses.
Just the evangelism side of Christianity is a 100 billion dollar a year business, the Vatican has a 350 billion a year budget.
Connect the dots
.......................................................
Do you understand why religion is fighting science yet, I bet you do.

Edit:
Schneb says that evolution needs infinite time. That is patently untrue, Schneb often makes blatantly false statements to further his own agenda. Be careful of his false statements, Satan has his tongue.

To "create" means to put and keep something in existence. God is Creator because He puts and sustains everything in existence. He is the maker and final goal of everything that exists, all things visible and invisible.

The truth of creation means that God's loving creativity builds into each of us a meaning, purpose and destiny which nothing can take away from us.

Does the Genesis account of creation contradict the scientific theory of evolution? No. In affirming that God is the ultimate cause of all that exists, Genesis gives its ultimate meaning and purpose - "Why" the world exists. It does not explain "how" the physical world came to be in its present condition, which the theory of evolution tries to explain.

The Catholic Church does not have an official position on whether various life forms developed over the course of time. However, it says that, if they did develop, then they did so under the impetus and guidance of God, and their ultimate creation must be ascribed to him.

Concerning human evolution, the Church has a more definite teaching. It allows for the possibility that man's body developed from previous biological forms, under God's guidance, but it insists on the special creation of his soul.

I do. And there is proof of human evolution if you know where to look. Take sports for instance. To qualify for Olympic swimming you must get times that were world's records in the 70's. Because we're still evolving. If we weren't evolving the all world records would plateau.

I believe there is what really happened. Then there are people who really don't know what happened but insist that they do know. An open minded person can recognize that evolution and creation are different theories that attempt to explain the beginnings of the world and mankind from different viewpoints. I wonder when the arguement will begin between creation and intelligent design.

Hey, it's good to see you again!

The answer... I guess it's because those who believe in evolution believe that things were created by mere 'chance', and that things evolved from one single cell, while religion tells that things were created by God, not by chance.

There are many thing that make these two uncombinable. Each one of them is different in it's own way.

Peace.

Many people do.

But some have an overly simplistic worldview, and refuse to accept anything outside of it.

Even the POPE accepts Evolution as scientific fact, for crying out loud!

What you are saying is no contradiction, and if evolution did actually occur, it poses no threat to religion.

Most of the argument though is centered around if evolution theory is TRUE, rather than it opposing religion.

Most generally do, it's just a few atheists and fundamentalists that have problems.

They all believe in a silly B movie starring Darren from Bewitched and think it's some type of reality.
