this is just a poll to find out... as a christian i am currious to see where we stand in the world.

(i wellcome your opinion no matter if it is yes or no, however, it is annoying if you tell me what your thoughts on how stupid it is. this in reguards to the previous info)

Of course I do. Christians are some of the most generous people I have ever known. Studies have shown that Christians give far more of their income to charity than nonbelievers, even if you exclude the amount they tithe to their church and even if you compare believers and nonbelievers who have the same income.

Christians also believe in serving others. Following Jesus' example when he washed the disciples' feet, you will often find Christians working on skid row, serving up soup in kitchens, volunteering in hospitals, taking in children as foster parents, and on and on and on.

Unlike many Muslims, Christians don't have any desire to kill those who worship differently. Christians want everyone to believe, but they rely only on persuasion, not violence. That's why America, which is 80% Chrisitian, is one of the few places on earth where Christians, Jews (1% of the population), Muslims (1%) and Hindus and Buddhists (<1%) worship side-by-side peacefully. In countries that have Muslim majorities, such tolerance is rare.

Christians believe that the government and church should be two separate things. Muslims believe they should be one and the same. That's another crucial difference and another reason why Christians are willing to allow other religions to worship side by side with them in peace.

Christians believe in the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Christians also believe they should love their neighbors as themselves.

Finally, Christians don't claim to be perfect. They know that they are all flawed and all sinners in one way or another. But they also know that they are forgiven, and that gives them energy and hope and joy.

A real Christian follows Gods Word and practices what is taught in the Holy Bible. This is the kind of person I would like to know. So, yes I like Christians.

I do like christians, but I have a problem with those that talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. As christian we are supposed to strive to be christ-like, and I don't think christ would get drunk, or gossip about his neighbor, or dishonor his father, or lie, or break any of the 10 commandments. Christ gave us a roadmap to follow and some people are always trying to find a shortcut.

To quote Ghandi -- I like your Christ but not your Christians, your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

The reputation of Christians has been soiled by loud mouthed, self-rigtheous bigots like Jerry Fallwell, Pat Robertson, and Fred Phelps. Christ taught many things --love God, love your enemy, love your neighbor as your self, help the poor, feed the hungry, pray in private, give charity in private, pay your taxes (render unto Caesar), and visit the imprisoned. Christ saved his harshest criticisms for the self-righteous hypocrites who condemn others but ignore their own faults. He condemned public prayer, and called those who gave charity in public hypocrites.

The Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons of the world teach the exact opposite. They love money, hate others, urge people to pray in public, brag about their charity work, harp at others about their faults and ignore their own, and ***** about the taxes. Pat Robertson and the Christian Coalition have as their core issues gay marriage, abortion, and taxes, issues that have nothing to do with Christ.

If more Christians followed the real teachings of Christ and ignored self-righteous hapring hypocrites like Falwell and Robertson, Christians would have a better reputation.

Some of them. One of my best friends is one, and I have a lot of respect and admiration for him. He doesn't wear his religion on his sleeve, and he never tries to convert, yet he sets a really great example of being kind to everyone and of giving his time to the poor and needy.

But so many Christians these days are so delusional about being persecuted (despite being in the majority) or about the 'rapture' or are paranoid that hundreds of thousands of scientists are in a conspiracy to lie to them about biology, and then they accuse me of being immoral because I don't share their delusion. I don't like people like this.

I guess you do not have to have these questions on your mind. Every person has the right for their own religion. The only thing that makes it wrong is we judge a person with their preference on religion and if we criticize each belief.

As people, yes. If they are Christian, fine. I don't care. Religion doesn't exactly define a character.
