People in my town keep talking about getting a walmart store. I think it may be some sort of record/music store, but I could be wrong. My sister says it is a grocery store. I have no idea. What is it?

Both you and your sister are correct. Walmart sells everything from clothes to books to meds to flowers to tires (no cars). Depending on the size of your town, it could include a grocery too where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables. It's really a complete store with very reasonable prices. You'd love shopping there.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? Sorry, it's just mind boggling that there is someone unaware of a Wal-mart store. It's usually just a department store. They sell clothes, music, small furniture, hardware, stuff like that. But there are also Wal-mart Supercenters that are Wal-marts WITH a grocery store.

Wal Mart stores were begun in Arkansas by Sam Walton. Most of them are now what are called super centers. They have everything from groceries to auto parts. Clothing to prescriptions. Garden and lawn equipment to sporting goods. You can get your oil changed and buy your honey a new necklace. You can do your banking or get your picture taken. You can get your nails done or buy a roasted chicken. You can get your daughter a doll or your son a toy truck. At the one I go to, I can eat at McDonald's.

What's with all of you Wal Mart haters out there?

Where do you live? All I have to say is go to www.walmart.com
They have everything, only the Super Walmarts have the grocery sides, not all cities have the Super Walmarts.

Wal-mart is a store that is supposed to be designed for the below average income families. However, Wal-mart is soiling their name by trying to weed out the poor and draw in the upper class. Did you know that they are getting rid of the lay-away? I know for a fact that this one little change is going to hurt a lot of families. I would love to start a nation wide strike on Wal-mart. I work for a Government Relations firm - maybe I will just do that...

Wal-Mart is everthing basically you can buy anything from diapers to guns and even groceries. And even records so it's your one stop shop kind of. You must live in a small town not to know what wal-mart is.

It's a store that will come into a area with it's "third-world merchandise", under sell and put out of business the smaller stores, under pay its employee's, and make it's already billionaire owners richer.
Boycott Walmart and if you don't have one in your town, you haven't missed anything.
