I take pharms every day and night to control abnormal and eccentric behaviors. I try and ditch the pills for one day and immediately headaches set in, followed by a few hours of the most disheartening of moods. I would like to believe that I should toss the meds and go on being myself. The problem is that I exhibit abnormal and sometimes phantasmic behaviors.
I only wish that I could participate in society without feeling like a souless, medicated, zombie-like person.

" feeling like a souless, medicated, zombie-like person."

I'm sorry you feel this way - there are definately alternatives to medication to manage your "eccentric" behaviour look into them listed below.

It may also just be part of your character and make up,it's called neurodiversity an accepetance that our minds are all different.

I won't even bother naming the long list of very abnormal and eccentric people who became the worlds most incredible writers/poets and painters etc etc,you can use whats in you to your benefit instead of deteriment.

You are like no human being created since the beginning of time you are therefore incomparable. What works for some will not work for you - find out what gives youmost peace if peace is what you want and stick to that.

much luck :-)

I used to be a sub. abuse counselor. If you're taking benzos (ie, Xanax, Klonopin), the withdrawal can lead to seizures which can kill you. Not pretty to watch either: ever see a fish on a dock?
Consult with whoever Rx'd your meds. Never just "ditch these meds". You have a chemical imbalance; not good or bad, just real. Suddenly ceasing medication logically leads to an extreme reaction in the other direction (hence, imbalance). Get a 2nd opinion (ok, I think you're ugly, too) and seek out the Psychiatric Consumer/Survivor/Ex-Patient Movement. Google it.

My partner is going through this. If they make you feel like this, they are NOT the right meds. Go see a doctor to go on new meds that suit YOU. keep seeing a doctor or new doctors until they give you the right one. DO NOT try to go off the meds without doctor's advice...or trust me bad sh** happens.
Best of luck

some meds can cause big problems if stopped suddenly. ask your doctor if he thinks you can be without them/help wean you off or if a lower dosage would work
