It makes no difference if I go to bed at 10pm or 1:30am- in the morning it's a real struggle to wake / get up. I usually try and get up at about 6:45am (I have to be in work for 8am) but I rarely make it out of bed before 7:30!
I'm an assistant teacher- it's not like my job is particularly strenuous and I'm never particularly sleepy during the day- just when I'm trying to wake up. I don't quite see why getting up in the morning (with 2 alarm clocks and a LOT of hitting the snooze button) is so difficult.
Any thoughts? It's getting a bit annoying.

I've tried placing my two alarm clocks either side of the room. Problem is sometimes I completely sleep through them, much to my neighbour's annoyance...
To Bob X:
What? Some puncuation might help me work out what you're on about, fella.

Its all in the mind my friend. Nothing exciting happening in your life so your mind is not in the mood to wake up to the challenges, excitement of a new day...get yourself a girlfriend, find a early morning jogging partner preferably female, introduce excitement into your life and all will be well. Cheers!

Whoever thought up " early to bed, early to rise" should be shot! Some of are night creatures.
I go through 2-3 alarm clocks a year hitting the snooze alarm.
I also worked for over 30 years, shift work.
Try getting up 615AM. Yes, getting up before 1000AM sucks, but if you don't have to rush,. you tend to feel better.

put the alarm clock across the room, so that you have to get up to turn it off. Try going to bed earlier. Dont take naps when you get home from work. Dont eat right before you go to sleep.

This works for me, although only in spring and summer! Leave your curtains open (or if someone can see in, use a sheer curtain) and as it gradually becomes lighter, your body releases melatonin and becomes prepared to wake up. There are lamps you can buy that do the same thing, but since daylight's free, try that first! If you want to try the lamp thing, have a look at this:

have you tried placing your 2 alarm clock far from your bedside and far apart? for example, place one near the dresser and another at your bathroom. i had the same prob coz i have to catch my transport at 6am and had to wake up real early.
The idea is, when you hear ur alarm, you have to get up and walk to the 1st clock to shut it off. Then take a sip of water or something before you turn off the 2nd alarm clock, then staright away wash your face and brush your teeth at the toilet to really freshen you up.
once your body clock gets the hang off you waking up at that time, you really won't have to struggle anymore.

It sounds like you have a messed up sleep schedule. Talk to your doctor about medication to help you get on a more regular schedule. You might just be a nightowl. You might not be a morning person.
It will take a few weeks...maybe longer...but with some help, you can start getting a set number of hours of sleep a night.

first, make sure you get enough exercise in the day otherwise your body might not be tired enough and u could be tossing and turning during the night so when you have to get up it feels as though you didnt sleep enough...also, getting up at 6:45 is pretty early so even if you did go to bed at 10am, maybe your body needs 9 hours of sleep. last, you should go to bed around the same time, i know that if i go to bed at different times my body gets confused and thinks its tired when its not.

I think you don't like your job. it's too stressful for you perhaps. I kinda have the same experience too. If I have to get to work at 10 am, I could wait and linger in bed until like 9:30am. the reason, I do not want to go to work. I have plenty of sleeps too. but, not enough motivation for me when I think of the work and it's headaches for me. what do you think? do you like your job?

Try breathing excercise ( Pranayama ) and
some yoga which will improve the power of
controlling your mind over body.
