. if we talk about the definition of sin in the bible it is a transgression of the law (or the word) of God many people wonder what about the people who do not even know what is contain in the bible, how could they transgress it, but the bible has a statement about this: In Rome 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
Rom 2:12 for as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) “ In this verse it is clear that even though the person did not know what is contained in the law but God put a law on their heart ( for example; Bible said “Deut 5:17 Thou shalt not kill. Even though you didn’t know this verse, you know deep in your heart that it is wrong to kill someone)
The contributing factor to make a person a sinner is his willingness to do it and not to do it (committing and omitting) like in the verses “Jam 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” you will see in this verse that the very moment you know the good thing you must do and you willingly refuse it to do it not you are already committing a sin (so this is a perfect example of omitting and committing: you omitting to do good and committing not to do the good that you knew)
There are level of sin and it is fall into two category, it was written in “1Jonh:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
1Jonh:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
This is the punishment that will be given to the sinners.
1Jo 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into lake of fire
Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you're meeting your group in a church and have to ask this question here, maybe your group should meet elsewhere. Sin means "missing the mark". Yes, ALL people are sinners. We are, by nature, sin. God's penalties for sin that is willful and unrepentant apply to those who are His. They can vary according to His will. If you are not His by your own choice, He has given you up to do pretty much your own thing. It's like mankind always says," Give a fool his own rope and he'll hang himself sooner or later."

Sin is the Greek word hamartia which means "to miss the mark." In other words, it is missing or falling short of God's holy standard of living for our lives. Romans 3:23 tells us this when it says "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." it also tells us that we are all sinners. The punishment for sin is death, or eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23). When Adam and Eve sinned, or disobeyed God's command not to eat of the fruit, they brought sin into the world. Since then, everyone born after Adam and Eve were born with a sin nature. Sin was imputed, or creditied to them (Romans 5:12-21).
Hope this helps. By the way, AWANA's are AWESOME!!!! Good for you. You will learn sooooo much. Study hard and memorze that Scripture. It will be a blessing to you for the rest of your life (Psalm 1; Psalm 119:9-16).

Sin is falling short of the laws/lessons taught in the Bible. It is not possible for a human being to be without sin in their life but as Christians we are to strive to live as sin-free as possible. Not many of us can go through life with NEVER telling a lie and most of us will look at something owned by someone else and I say I want that!(lust) Sin is easily committed and we are all prone to sin but fortunately Jesus made a way for our sins to all be forgiven. Are we sinners? yes, but I honestly think Creflo Dollar nailed it when he said I am not a sinner, I am a child of God that is afflicted with sin from time to time. In another words I don't sin in a carefree manner but I am forgiven when I do fall short. Thank You Jesus! Hope this helped.

Sin seems to be disobeying the Commandments, & Jesus' teachings.
As the Catholic church has it, everyone is a sinner. And that we were born in sin.
That, in my opinion, is a load of dookie! How can a newborn infant be sinful "out the gate".
God's penalty for sin? I belive its alot like karma, in other words what goes around comes around.

Sin is outdated concept. A throw back to the stone age. It's sad to see children forced or conned into brainwashing programs like AWANA.

sin is "transgression of the Law" 1 John 3:4 all have sinned (Romans 3:23) and a short version of the wages of sin is in Romans 6:23, but I suggest you read more about that one though, cuz there are many different views, some biblical, some not. I'm sure from my own reading that it talks about the second death there in romans, eternity in Hell.

The Lord Jesus forgives all your sins the day you settle for him into your heart and life. you're actually not desirable and could goof on a similar time as a born returned Cristian. purely understand your errors and repent. Ask the Lord for forgiveness. have you ever been baptized into you chosen Cristian faith yet? The Act of being baptized represents a clean life on your walk with the Lord. It represents all your sins being washed away. that's particularly cleansing and reaffirms your dating with the Lord. do not enable your previous deliver you down. we are purely in desirable people. God is conscious this. communicate on your pastor approximately your thoughts.

ignorance is the only real sin...everything else is some manifestation of ignorance.
Jesus said "Forgive them for they know not what they do".
Anyone who does evil thinks that they are doing it for a justified reason. This is ignorance.
All are sinners, because everyone lacks perfect knowledge.
The punishment for ignorance/sin is having to learn(whether from mistakes or from negative consequences) and grow.
All are forgiven though. Given another chance to learn and to grow.

Sin is a deliberate thought, word, deed, or omission contrary to the eternal law of God.
In other words, sin is anything that hurts your relationship with God.
All sin and fall short of the grace of God. This is why we need God's mercy.
Unrepentant sinners choose to be separated forever from God in hell.
With love in Christ.
