Atheists say that they don't need religion to not do bad things, but they make exceptions when it comes to premarital sex and gay sex. You might argue that people have the right to their own bodies, but if you get someone pregnant or spread STDs through irresponsible behavior, how are you not accountable for harming others. There is a good reason for not having sex outside of marriage besides "the bible says so", because there wouldn't be as many people in the world dying from STDs due to the actions of individuals who couldn't control their sexual urges.

No, me being an atheist has nothing to do with sex and I've been an atheist since long before I started even thinking about sex. I'm an atheist because I simply don't believe any god exists. I have never in my life experienced anything that came even close to proving to me that god exists, so I've never believed it. I'm not into just taking other people's word for things that don't make any sense to me.

By the way, it's not atheists who are spreading STDs around the most. Theists haven't proven to be any more responsible in their sex lives. I don't think one's sex life has much to do with one's religious beliefs (or lack there of), but rather self-discipline, sexual drive and education.

??? I've never had sex. I don't just go around having sex with everything I see. I am still looking for someone who cares about me. If I do have sex, it is going to be with protection. It is illegal if you have an STD to have sex with someone without telling them. You bible and god have nothing to do with either of those. Having sex, has nothing to do with my lack of belief in a god. I look for evidence and proof, not hope and fear.

I think you already know the answer to this question. Promiscuity causes all sorts of problems for people. Some of them do get diseases too. It's the same as when you tell a smoker that he might get cancer someday. Sometimes people stop smoking, but most of the time they don't. They usually wait until they get cancer. That's when they stop smoking.

Seems like all of the recent sex scandals have involved Christians, not atheists.

One is accountable for harming others, regardless of one's religion or lack thereof.

There are good reasons not to do all sorts of things, but the religious and the non-religious do them all the same.
