As a Christian, I was wondering what other Christians thought of the earth being hell in the end? God will take up those who wish to be with Him and the rest go to hell....maybe hell will be the earth without goodness?

Picture how society is today..now picture it without police, law, good and God....that might be hell the lost will face?

Just thinking here....

No. The earth will be renewed (like the Garden of Eden again). Rev. 21:10 says that the New Jerusalem descends out of heaven from God. Ecclesiastes 1:4 says that the earth abides forever.

And do you say you're just thinking, or did you randomly decide to draw that idea from the Left Behind series...?

I was wondering, as an Agnostic, if you as a Christian ever considered that maybe God were evil, and there was no Hell below, only Hell in all...

Maybe, but I doubt it. Actually, despite common misconception. Christians will spend eternity of Earth, not in Heaven. Revelation says that God wll basically remodel the Earth (by fire) and establish his kingdom on Earth in the new Jerusalem, which is about 1500 miles by 1500 miles and God will be our light.

I have heard that train of thought before and it would be an interesting concept except that it is contrary to God's plan.

The earth will eventually be engulfed by the sun as it's energy source starts to be depleted. But if hell exists, then God exists. And if God exists, and he created hell, then as an omnipotent being he must therefore be a sadist. A God that is a sadist is a gross contradiction thus proving that God does not exist.

The Bible makes reference of being cast into the pits of Hell....so no...I don't think actual Hell will be Earth although I think many will think it is when the end comes....

OK, while you are thinking here, you will need to open you Bible rather than the Internet. :)

The Bible calls Hell "Outer Darkness". It says that Jesus will reign on earth on David's throne. He will not reign over Hell.

Justsyd,
Spread your false doctrine elsewhere. The Bible clearly warns us of eternal punishment in hell if we do not accept Jesus as our Savior out of it!

The Angel prophesying to Daniel said it was a real place...
Da 12:2 - And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

God revealed it to Isaiah that is a real place.
Isa 66:24 - “And they shall go forth and look Upon the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, And their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”

Jesus confirmed God's prophetic word to Isaiah three times!
Mr 9:44 “where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’
Mr 9:46 “where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’
Mr 9:48 “where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’

Jude spoke of it...
Jude 7 - suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

And John in Revelation also described heaven detail.
Re 20:10&15 - And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire...and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

I would not bet my eternity on manmade philosophies and against the Word of God.

Hell is just a concept made up by the church. It's not even in the bible:

Heaven is going to be established on earth. It's in Revelation.
