Business casual. No jeans.

Judge Judy gave the most interesting answer I ever heard on the proper attire to wear to court. She said, "Wear to court what you would wear to your favorite aunt's funeral."

Translated I think that means leave the party clothing behind. Dress conservatively. I agree with business casual. No jeans, tee shirts, shorts, flip flops, spaghetti straps. For a man a tie is not required and a nice polo shirt is fine.

You want to dress relatively conservatively- but not too flashy or expensive. Juries are actually kind of turned off by peope who appear to have a bit too much money. You also don't want to wear jewelery, except a watch and a wedding ring if applicable. It's a fine line- don't look like a rich snob, but don't look unkempt, either. Good luck to you and your friend.

It kind of depends on what he is being tried for.... If he is on trial for assult then you want to look respectable, the normal pinstripped or solid professional looking suit is fine.

For murder you want to look normal, a sweater over a collared shirt, maybe with a tie... something like a sweater vest or something like it.

For a DUI you just want to look sober, make sure you shave, and look put together.

If it was a hate crime, you should where a pair of buttless chaps, or a leather-daddy suite. This will show the court that he is not shocked by, or have any problem with people 'like that'.

If it was rape then you should dress as a woman, this will help the jury see that he does not have a problem with ladies. (it does not matter if you are a man... this will work.)

Use this list as a guideline, and go from there.

Wear exactly what you would wear to church, or to an outdoor wedding. Not too businessy, not too casual. Like a dress shirt, dress pants, tie optional. Carry a sweater, just in case it gets cold in the court room.

Business attire. A suit and tie if you are male. A pantsuit or skirt suit if you are female.

Slacks and a nice shirt is fine. Wearing a suit is not required and if you are not used to wearing one you will be very uncomfortable.

Casual business clothes would be good, like some nice khakis . No jeans or t-shirts.

Basically you just need to look good.

Leather shoes, dress pants, a button-down shirt and a sweater/sweater vest would be fine.

Nothing can beat a suite. If you dont have one then some chinos and a button down shirt.

Normal street wear, dress, suit, slacks, no revealing tops or shorts. please, after-all it is a courtroom not a dance club. If u r a male, casual/business...slacks, shirt and tie. Suit not necessary unless ur choice.
