You have to take into consideration that the word Dinosaur was developed in the 1800's if I'm not mistaken and it refers to any large reptile. If you look up the word Dragon in a 1600's encyclopedia, it will give you a definition of a large reptile still in existence but very rare. In times when the climate was not so harsh, reptiles lived much longer and it is a proven fact that as long as a reptile lives, it continues to grow. So many years ago, it was possible to have very large reptiles, and or dragons because they lived much longer than they do today.

The Bible is accurate when it deals with science. You mentioned Job 26:7, and there are others, such as Isaiah 40:22 that speaks of the "circle" of the Earth this was hundreds of years before Columbus proved it was round.
I am going to include an interesting link that discusses Reconciling Science and Religion.

Also, Can Science Help you find God.

I thought they were very interesting, I hope you will as well.

I have faith in you that after you read this, you will do your pondering whether it holds some truth.
I believe that in the name of science is based on theory. They try to find explanations for events which they do not understand, hoping to find a common ground of what has already taken place.
I believe that the bible is records of times which has come to pass, however, I feel this was a book created for our guidance, it was given to us for prevention purposes and then some. Everything which has happened and currently existing has already been for told.
Heavenly Father, where preparing our home and through the dinosaurs had nurtured the soil for the greater population yet to come.
Dinosaurs served their purpose is his great plan.
Amen!

True Christianity is consistent with (and complementary) to the true data of Science (not necessarily the theories or hypotheses of science).
I practice science while being a committed Christian.
I subscribe to the big-bang (as the creation event) and to a 14 billion year old universe and 4.5 billion year old earth and 200-ish million year old dinosaurs etc... and I dont see this as inconsistent with either the Bible (properly understood) or with Christianity.
Cordially,
John

The bible is not science but a record of a disjointed history. Biblical information doesn't equal knowledge. The only thing the comes out of a theist mouth is the bible says. How is that understanding?
Long after science has grown past what we know today the bible will be still be of etched in primitive knowledge.

Big Bang is Genesis.
It was postulated by a Catholic Priest with a degree in Physics based on Relativity.
INDEPENDENTLY a NON Priest Physicist CAME UP with the SAME EXACT math equation for the propegation of fluids. Also based on Relativity. That was a MAsters Thesis.
The Big Bang postulate included references to stars and galaxies moving away (Hubble later proved this to be true) and background GAMMA radiation from the initial bang (Bell Labs found this 3.6 degree Kelvin signature 30 years later).
Dr. Fred Hoyle came up with an ALTERNATIVE theory called Steady State and used to Mock the Priest's theory calling it "Big Bang"
Steady state was ABANDONED by the scientific community as a majority in the late 1960s in favor of the Priest's view or BIG BANG
Einstein called that view the best explaination of the start of the universe (becuse of the Gamma radiation signature).
The Big Bang is genesis.
Darkness followed by light, followed by the formation of stars, galaxies and planets (the heavens) followed by the rotation of planets (day and night) followed by the creation of all matter (inorganic elements, starting with hydrogen).
It was ALL explained with math.
It holds with relativity. It holds with Newtonian physics. IT holds with inorganic chemistry.
It came from a Catholic Priest
The Vatacan has no problems with that concept, so long as GOD is behind it all and not a cosmic accident.
The Priest never did say WHO caused it, only HOW it happened. The mechanics behind it all.
The scientific community tries hard to bury the fact a Priest was the main proponent behind the theory. You have to DIG to find out about him.
Hoyle was so miffed about it he worked hard to create this own theory and mocked BIG BANG.
The father of Genetics, by the way, is a Catholic Abbott.
He provided some of the conclusive proofs of botanical evolution.

There's an absolute relationship between Science and the Bible. Scientists love to test out their theories on everything, and tries to falsify them. By falsifying their theories, they eventually come to realise things that MUST be true. The converse is true of the Creationists. They ask you to believe in stuff that they have no hope of ever proving, and when Science shows them how wrong they were, they just change their theory to suit the new scientific evidence. So:-
Science - we PROVE its wrong, and get the right answer
Bible - we allege its true and won't take no for an answer.
Hows that for a relationship?

There is science in the Bible (but a person has to be able to identify the scientific between the lines of scripture)
The Bible speaks of a day being held in freeze.
Science has been able to identfy the day in looking back through the telescopes.
I read the article a couple of years ago, but don't have it any longer.

I went along with the same perception. The internet is full of information told by people that we do not even know. Who can we trust especially since history is recorded by the winners (people who have the money and influence)? It's hard to tell. I would stick to what you know is true. If you're not sure, then don't relay the information.

Science makes predictions that are demonstrably correct. The Bible predicts nothing demonstrable of any sort. The difference is that religion relies on supernatural phenomena; science excludes such. It is obviously impossible in principle to predict supernatural phenomena; predictions are made according to laws, while the definition of supernatural phenomena is that they do not obey the laws.
