I know about the Freeze Panes feature, but I only want to freeze the column headings. I know it can be done but I can't figure it out. Thanks!

Select the first cell in the row beneath the heading (likely A2) and go to Window --> Freeze Panes. If you select cell B2, then the first column and row will freeze.

To "freeze" the first row, or column headings, position the cursor in A1, click Window, cl Freeze Panes.

To have the column header row repeat as you scroll down, go to File, Page Setup. Click the sheet tab. Where it says "row to repeat at top," type $1:$1 (that's dollar sign 1 colon dollar sign 1)
Then click o.k.

Click on the row under where you want it frozen, to highlight the entire row. Then go to Window on the menubar and select Freeze Panes. It will freeze it on the line above where you highlighted.
