I believe you should think not only the time it takes you to become a Registered Nurse but beyond that point.
Where are you going to receive the best training?
Are you ready to leave your family and friends?
Are you ready to serve your Country?
Do you understand what that means?
Are you ready to go to war if they ask you to do so?
You must think about all of them and then take your decision.
Good luck

Well if you do the nursing in the Army it may only take 52 weeks, but don't forget you have to sign a four year contract, and since your MOS will be a year long you will probably have to sign a 5 year contract. But the good news is that you get paid to go to MOS school instead of paying them. Try looking into Army Reserves, that way you can go through the training and still pretty much live where you do now. But don't forget you still gotta go through basic and your mos school, so look at around 61 weeks for you to be back at home. Hope this helped

This questions has several scenarios. The military may pay for your schooling through ROTC programs and then you owe them "x" many years after school serving as a military nurse. Or you could go through them now and they put you through all their programs. With that said, you want to guarantee that their program provides the exact same certifications/degrees as a civilian nursing program. Also this to consider, once finished, the Army may more than likely deploy you oversees, possibly to Iraq or other locations.

Take what a recruiter say with a grain of salt. How disciplined are you? The military might be good to train and even if you didn't get the training you wanted you can get help on the GI Bill after you're out for college. Might be worth it if you are desperate to get trained and military needs medical personnel like that.

Don't join the army unless you want to be in the army, and when you are in the army you do what they say, when they say it, no whining because you don't want to go where they order you, they own your butt when you sign on the dotted line, that is the FACT. But, if you are cool with that you have benefits for life and will have better opportunities for travel than most people your age, and serious credentials when you go looking for work as a civilian afterwards.
