Have you been messing around with settings? Let's try a system restore in Safe Mode.

Safe Mode is: Turn your PC on or Restart. As soon as you see the black and white screen, press and hold the F8 key. Continue holding until you see a black and white menu. Safe Mode is F3 or F5. It looks weird but that’s because Windows is not loaded.

There are two ways to access System Restore: through Help and Support or through your All Programs folder.

Through Help and Support:

1. Click Start, and then click Help and Support.

2. Under Pick a Task, click Undo changes to your computer with System Restore.

3. Follow the instructions on the wizard.

Through the All Programs menu:

1. Click Start.

2. Point to All Programs.

3. Point to Accessories.

4. Point to System Tools.

5. Click System Restore.

6. Follow the instructions on the wizard.

When finished, Restart. Your icons will be out of order - just drag them back into place.

I hope you have not experienced a crash and that this does it for you.

I was having a similar problem with some computers I worked on at an elementary school. Before you write it off as a crashed computer, when was the last time your computer (if it is a desktop) was cleaned out. Sometimes when the tower gets too much dust and dirt in it, the thing overheats and shuts itself down. I opened the tower and cleaned everything out and now they run fine. Just something to look in to before you decide to get a new computer.

Then how are you on line now? Are you making fun of somebody that you just did that too? If so they may be on line again watching your antics right now getting ready to find you.

Congratulations - your computer crashed. Try saving anything thats left and take it to your local repair or buy one of those repair systems.
