I remember reading in one of my etiquette books that the correct way to do this is for the man to enter first to get it started for the lady (as most of these doors are heavy). The lady would then enter the next spot.

You would simply allow her to enter first. When you enter the next space, do not push...allow her to control the speed of the door and make sure you don't bump into her upon exit.

We need more revolving doors in the world. That's how we can ensure the true demise of chivalry.

Go in first, and when she follows, spin it quickly in the other direction. Then, if she falls down, you can exit at the other door, help her up, thereby being the gentleman, and winning her heart.

Or so I'm told.

He steps back and gives her plenty of room to enter and waits until she is through to the other side before proceeding himself.

I guess you would just hold it so that she could step into the open part, and let her go first.
