ERGENT: Whenever I try to download updates in Fedora Core 6, it says:?

"Insufficient space in download directory //var/cache/yum/updates/packages to download"
If I can clear space somehow or chenge the directory to somewhere else (on hard drive or externel hard drive) please say how

One way is to clear out the old updates in there by running "yum clean all"

/var is also the place for log files and other stuff that can accumulate, including the web page root at /var/www.

Tools such as GNOME's baobab can help break down the disk usage into a tree.
