he thinks its a game he will take our socks and run, he dont swallow them he just bites holes in them, my husband has to get dressed in the bathroom he has alot of toys but he would rather play with socks

you can train dogs and cats NOT to do things by spraying them with a water bottle.

It is a game to your dog. If you want this behavior to stop, you can confine him, or you can teach him an incompatible behavior (such as a go-to-your-mat, for example) so that he cannot perform the behavior and steal your socks at the same time. Teaching the command 'leave it' will help too (link below)
If he does get a sock, do not engage in any form of tug with that sock. That will make the game even more fun for him! Take his collar gently, and bring him in close to your leg. This restricts his movement and he will eventually let go of the sock. You really want to avoid any 'contest of wills' or emotion - just wait for him to let go (waving chicken pieces in front of his face will help if too much time goes by!)

Use a cattle prod when he does that.(just kidding). If you make doing that an unpleasant experience he will stop. Think, why would he enjoy doing this? Think like Fido.
