That's why they feel guilty. Because it's a grave sin.
Sexuality is meant to be shared with another person. When we masturbate we are using our own bodies for pleasure, and God intended that we find pleasure within marriage with our husband or wife.
It is unnatural to commit sexual acts alone. It is also unsatisfying, which is exactly why many people get hooked on it.
God bless you.

--ITS A SIN in the making. Although the Bible does not directly refer to masturbating, NEVERTHELESS it can have a stimulating affect on more serious sins:
(Colossians 3:5-6) “5 Deaden, therefore, YOUR body members that are upon the earth as respects fornication, uncleanness, sexual appetite, hurtful desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of those things the wrath of God is coming. . .”
--SO WHAT a person is doing is lighting the fires to sexual appetite,
--AS FOR THE GUILT:
--BECAUSE sex was indeed provided to give ones mate sexual pleasure, unselfishly , SO INDEED the failure to carry this out properly might indeed make one feel guilty even if one does not have a mate.
--SO LIKE any instructions for a mechanical device, one needs to follow the instructions otherwise the full enjoyment of the apparatus is lost.
--THUS the full enjoyment of the sexual pleasures involves two individuals of the opposite sex, IN THE marriage arrangement. THAT IS THE SIMPLICITY OF THE MATTER!

No it is not.
The reason why it is classified as sin in most religions is largely due to the effect of mastubation on the mind and body of a person.
Masturbation can be an addiction which clouds the mind with sexual fantasies and desires all day long. This will definitely lead a person away from religous thoughts and the desire to pray will lesses in a person who is constantly engaged in sexual thoughts.
Physically, too much loss of sexual fluids can have a damaging effect on the body. It creates fatigue, faster degeneration of cells causing a person to age faster etc.
It is not wrong to masturbate but what is important is not to "overindulge". Keep it under control and maintain a balnce in your life between spirituality and pleasure.

People feel guilty because society makes it naughty.. If a person sees it as a sin, to that person, it is..

Masturbating is not in and of itself a sin, but it is the lust that often accompanies masturbation that is sinful. Some Christians believe that masturbation can be a way to relieve sexual tension before they find their spouse, if they do not use lust to accompany this task. Some believe that it is impossible to separate the two, but it isn't. Most importantly, if you feel that you are committing a sin, then don't do it. Pray to God to reveal what he wants, for restraint.

If masturbation is considered a sin, I don't know why. The only person it affects is you. You can't catch or spread disease. It can't result in unwanted pregnancy. And it's a convenient way to appease your urges. What's the harm in it?

No, it's not a sin! Most people don't feel guilty afterwards. Don't worry, there are WAY worse thing you could be doing. And, anyone that tells you they don't do it are lying.

it is a sin if it is not done right. People that feel guilty think that dead relatives and friends are watching them play with themselves.

Masturbation has never hurt anyone, and you know that you're always having sex with someone you love.
