If you want a real good lure, invest in a couple bags of Yum Dingers. They are by far the greatest lure I have ever used. They are only $4 for 10 of them so they arent that expensive. I would also buy 2 spinnerbaits and a buzzbait. 1 red spinnerbait and 1 white. For the buzzbait get a black one. If you have these on hand i can garentee you'll catch some nice bass.
good luck!

Worms and minnows are fine, as are artificial bait like plastic worms and spinner baits, if you want to put some work into it. I think the best thing to do is ask around the lake to find out what the fish are hitting on a particular day.

Minnows are good, but a silver 1/2 ounce Rat-L-Trap lure will usually out-produce bait. Anglers of any skill level can easily locate and catch bass with this cast and retrieve lure. They cost about $4. Get you one and use it on a rod/reel with 10 lb test line. They will catch any species of gamefish in the water.

Worms are great. Take a big nightcrawler and hook it through the nose; add a small weight about 8-10" up from the hook.

As for artificial baits, plastic worms, lizards, spinnerbaits, jigs, craws, tubes, crankbaits. Any of these work.
