Well, you might want to consider going off the beaten track and head to Koh Chang. Place is nice and not heavy with visitors. You get to do water activities, trekking etc and just the activities you couple can do together. And the cost will be much less than what you will be paying in Samui for the same kind of accommodation and activities.

Just a personal thought for you to consider. Definitely no girlie bars and in your face shannigans there.

If you want to go to the Gulf of Thailand side (where Samui is) go to Ko Pha-ngan or Ko Tao instead. They're both part of the Samui archipelago. Both are cheaper than Samui.
Ko Pha-ngan is famous for its monthly Full Moon Party on Haad Rin (Rin Beach); regardless, that beach is party entral any night. If that's not your thing, there are lots of quieter and more secluded beaches on that island.
Ko Tao is famous for its scuba diving---very easy and cheap to get your PADI license, which is good worldwide. It's considered the best diving area in the Gulf. The beaches aren't as good but good enough for some sunbathing, and the snorkeling at the beaches and little bays is awesome too. And no girlie bars but a couple of discos.

Honestly, Ko Tao is my favorite island/beach vacation spot in Thailand. It's less expensive than others but not completely isolated. The Gulf side isn't quite as pretty as the Andaman Sea side (where Phuket is) but it's a hell of a lot cheaper and less gaudy.

Another option is to go to Ko Chang off the coast of Trat province (next to Cambodia)

Hoep it turns out well

Samui, Samet, Chang, Phi Phi are all good destinations and there is a certain amount of local girls who will be visible. There are girls in almost all the bars but they also have a tendency to shy away from the men who are obviously attached. GO and have a good time. Don't let the obvious get to you. Thailand is a beautiful country and has much to offer a tourist...take it all in!

I have not been to Samui in a few years, but I have heard there is an increasing "scene" there... you might want to try Krabi, or some of the quieter beaches on Phuket, not Patong or Hua Hin and Cha'am are nice and a bit more family oriented... but hey, I ma sure Samui would be swell too - it is a beautiful tropical island

hehehe......you stated Bangcock. How do you propose on staying in Thailand for 3 months? you will might desire to get a 2 month vacationer visa before then prepare for a 30 day extension previous to it expiring. Visa via a consulate is 35 USD, yet you gotta supply them your flight itinerary especially which you're leaving, a economic business enterprise assertion showing a minimum of 500 USD in line with guy or woman and 2 passport pictures. The extension is around 60 USD. individually, i might flow immediately from BKK to CM, then decrease back off because of fact maximum individuals of the places you % to work out are on the coast or close to BKK.

It really depends on your idea of a relaxing holiday. Koh Samui is basically a beautiful island - nature wise..totally great! Hang out at the beach during the day...go party and drinking at night. Find it easy to make new friends...locals and foreigners. I prefer going there with a bunch of friends. I can't keep my husband to myself 24/7. He's in a much better mood when he can have time out to hang out with his friends.

Look girlie's are everywhere but just avoid certain Bars. Usually they leave couples alone and if you stay in a good Resort/Hotel the "Ladie's" are not allowed in.

sorry but i strongly disagree with madonna. ive been to Thailand 7 times and have usually stayed in pretty nice places, and i have continually seen men walking through the lobby with obvious prostitutes ..... taxi cabs lined up and down the street waiting for men from the hotel to come out so they can try to talk them into letting them take the guy to a brothel. and the taxi drivers dont care, i had one taxi driver talk with me and my wife for about 30 minutes, and 10 minutes later when my wife wasnt around he was trying to talk me into letting him take me to a place for sex. and to say the hotel doesnt allow it is just plain wrong. lets be realistic here ....... excuse me sir, i know youre spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars here every day, but you cant bring HER in here. lol ..... please.
