hey...I live in Canada and for the past year and a half I've been dating a guy from the US. I was wondering if anyone else is dating someone from another country, any differences you've noticed, and how you make it work? Do you all find it worth it? Please no sarcastic answers or telling me how it will never work out...I'm fully aware of the "statistics", I just want to hear from others in the same kind of situation as myself. Thanks!

hey....I am a Canadian and have been married to an American for almost 19 years.....unfortunately my Love passed away.
Now, after some years alone I am in love again with a man from Oregon.
We are planning a life together.
I'm not saying it is easy.....fortunately my husband was retired when we met in B.C.
He came to live with me for several months, then would leave for a month or so...then would live with me for another 5 months....and so on.....until I took early retirement.
We then vacationed 6 months less one day in the states....and did the same in B.C.
Yes...we had 2 homes.
In my current situation we are both retired and at this moment we have been together since November.....Now it is time for me to cross the border...with him....for the next 6 months.
My Dear....for me it was more then worth it. I was married to an amazing "foreigner".
I hope that I was of help to you. I wish you the very best. Good luck.

well, i think i'm in the same situation with you rite now, only mine is "when west meet east". When a guy from the west in England (but now he's in Sweden) age 30, dating me in from east in Malaysia age 18. Well, we've been dating on here for almost three years now, but we never met in the flesh for your information. We do work out well on here, talk alot about us, our future like when to meet, when to get married after all my studies, where to live, numbers of kids would like to have. Based on the topic we talk about on here, always give us hope and it makes us worth to have this long-distance relationship, but i think it'll be work out well and easy for you since you and him from the same side, no big deal, which you luck!

My mom's co worker would go to Brazil to visit his girlfriend at least once a month. No one thought it would work out, but it did cause they got married and now they are having a baby. Good luck!
